The Nets should sign and trade Vince Carter and add in Mikki Moore and fillers for KG.

Even Jason Kidd has more of a killer instinct than Garnett has right now.

But back to Second Bananas, I posted this in the Jermaine O'Neal thread, has there ever been an era in the NBA where there are so many Second Bananas?

    Kevin Garnett
    Jermaine O'Neal
    Chris Webber
Antawn Jamison (to a lesser extent)
    Shawn Marion
    Pau Gasol

It's like if you were their coach, you would want them to take the last shot if the game was on the line because of their talent and star status, but they fold faster than 3-8 offsuit at the poker table. I know there's more players but I can't think of any at the moment.

I love KG, he is one of my favorite players, he has so much talent. However i agree wth the posters that say he is not eh main alpha dog. One of the things is that he is not selfhish enough, he wants to pass to often. If you put him next to a killer, they can be an amazing duo.

Phoenix has some really attractive pieces to offer Minnesota for KG. They have 3 first round draft picks this year I believe. One of them can be #5 or so (silly Hawks did not lottery protect the pick in the trade :D ). In addition to the picks they have talented players they can part with.

Of course the question Sarver will have to ask himself is whether he is willing to go that much over the cap and pay astronomical salaries.

If I were given an opportunity to pair up KG and Amare with Nash, I would do it. That's pretty much guaranteed championships.

    Sup dude!

Been busy with research, getting ready for grad school, planning for wedding, and an overseas trip to Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I did my best to avoid posting for a while on this board because it gets addicting. I have a week off so I could not resist. :p

Back for now....wont be on most of summer. Zgirl and I will be getting married and then we are off on a trip.

I will do my best to follow the Rockets though!

So, have you been educating while I was away? :D

    Dang! That's a lot of going-ons.

Congrats on the wedding, I am assuming ZGirl is a strong Rafer supporter as well, or did you completely forget to ask her? :D

You know it! In fact, I had an entire thread dedicated to me in the GARM. Just good, wholesome fun. ;)

Good luck with grad school, hopefully it's in Houston so you don't miss out on Brad Lidge and Rafer...fun days ahead, I tell ya!

Oh, and almost forgot, Swin Cash still sucks!

Thanks! And since you asked about Zgirl and what she thinks about Rafer....I will share the story.

Zgirl and I had been going out for a while. She got hooked on Rockets because of me. She follows their progress and keeps up with the players. So one day, while watching the Rockets, she looks at me straight in the eye and says, "Wow! This guy Rafer is just terrible! Cant they find someone better?"

I think I was teary eyed. Right then I knew I had met the woman of my dreams. Bright, intelligent, deep, and just as sexy as myself. I proposed to her on the spot!

I will keep you posted on Zmunchkins.

KG is better than most of those players simply through the effort and heart he puts every night. Every night he looks like he's going to kill someone and combust if they lose. For that, he is a better than Vince Carter, to me as a fan, because I know the KG I'm watching is the KG at his best. I cannot say the same about Carter, Pierce, and Mac. In comparison to Ray, he's more talented than Ray. In terms of Yao, well, again, Yao isn't in the same generation so it's useless to compare Yao with a generation of superstars ahead of him. Yao will be compared to Wade, Lebron, Bosh, and the rest when their time has come.

Now if your point is based on accomplishments, you'd have to think scenarios. What if KG played with Jefferson and Kidd the way Carter does? What if KG played in the East period instead of a very brutal West where any team devoid of two really good players or a really good coach are guaranteed lower seeds or lottery bound? This isn't KG's fault any more than the Lakers being 6th Kobe's fault. At least the Lakers have Lamar and Phil Jackson. Give a guy Ricky Davis and ex-coaches like Kevin McHale, Flip Saunders, and formerly Dwayne Casey and you can't blame KG for what's transpired. the only thing you can really say is that Wolves should at least be 8th, but look how talented the Clippers, GS and NO are and they're still fighting for 8th. The West is tough.

::holding back tears:: you've got a keeper there, man. :)

Smart boy. You can pretty much have your own anti-Rafer section at the TC, in a few years down the road, of course! :p

Please do, I am especially interested in what their first words are going to be. But I am afraid that if you expose them to too much Rafer Alston child services might get involved; that might qualify as cruel and unusual punishment.

That was amazing. Thanks so much for posting that. I feel more now for this guy than I ever have.

..You know, the Knicks are another team that could make this happen. Please, just let him go east, please.
