http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/view.bg?articleid=1049532 What do you think.. a little sensitive or justified?
I think it is justified I mean . . .They could have easily said the Celtic just losing or trading someone . . like the other two I mean . . notice they did not say Tom Brady blowing out a knee or Randy Moss . . or Big Papi or Man Ram . . .. only him? A. Why just him B. What I near career ending injury? Rocket River Wish injury on a person is Distasteful and unclassy
that's a bit disgusting. nothing wrong with wishing a team to do poorly, but wishing physical harm on another man? especially when that man's livelihood depends on his physical abilities? unjustifiable.
That is really disrespectful. I would not wish injury on anyone, even opponents of rival teams. Maybe a bruised rib from a hard pick, or a black eye from an inadvertent elbow to the face by Yao, but nothing career ending. Just tough and dirty basketball, but not on the level of Karl Malone.
yeah that is pretty classless. garnett is one of the good guys in the NBA who still hasn't won anything yet. pretty crappy to make a poll with an option like that. i hate espn.
Hopefully ESPN will issue an apology soon. Shameful for a reputable (somewhat) network like them to do that.
As someone who's had a terrible knee injury, that's not something you joke about. It ****ing sucks and is one of the most painful and frustrating things I've ever been through (and still am dealing with a year later) It's one of those things you dont truly understand until it happens to you. Needless, to say, I sympathize with Garnett. Not funny at all.
it's funny because it shows a complete lack of thought. they could've just easily put "garnett decides to retire" as the poll option and that'd be the end of it.
KG is viewed as a saint. and it bugs me. he's no kobe, but he ain't a winner either. he is a warrior and he plays hard, so no complaints there. on the right team there's no doubt he can win the big one. somebody post that interview with the owner of the t-wolves commenting on the state of the team and the KG trade (i don't have it). KG was a b!tch on that team. not the leader everyone wants to make him out to be. F KG, though i'd take him over yao most days of the week. EDIT: yes it's bullsh!t to wish someone to blow out their knee.
I can't believe ESPN printed such a thing. What a total lack of class, not to mention sportsmanship and intelligence. The editor who allowed it should be fired. The writer who thought of it should be fired. And ESPN should print an apology to Garnett on the front page for a week. I'm taking a hiatus from ESPN for a month, from all their media outlets, unless it is the only station on the tube to catch a Rockets game. That'll be it. There's no excuse for this. They should do themselves a favor and hire some class, like Kelly Dwyer.
I honestly thought he went light on them in his remarks. I mean I don't know how much you can say to national media but wow talk about tongue in cheek. I don't know about it if I was in KG's position, but I would have ripped ESPN a new one after that. That's messed up. Someone owes KG an apology which KG should barely accept.
