Huh, It's America, People never have money at bank, we use credit card, Do you know that? And we want now, now , now, now, who care yesterday or tomorrow, We want now now...............
You know...you people are funny. The Rox have been preparing for this season for almost 2 months...TMAC is a HUGE part of the prep...remove him...and EVERYTHING changes. And the team as a whole is in a shooting slump.. (Yao caught it last night)...but NOW is actually a good time to be in a slump if you are going to be in one...beats the heck out of slumping in March,April and May (and June!) Plus...you have new players who are adjusting to a new coach...and a new system...a system that demands detail and discipline...it is a fantastic system that has and will be successful...but it takes time...and repetition... just look at the past 2 early season results...both years started slowly...even with impact players like STEVE FRANCIS and later with TMAC...but BOTH TEAMS IMPROVED THROUGH REPETITION. Guys are watching where they are going, where they need to be.... and not watching the ball...they are THINKING and not PLAYING...it looks chaotic...and it is...but it won't stay that way. Pretty soon they will KNOW where to go...and where they need to be...and the playing part will come naturally again. What you are going to have in time are SMARTER players...and when they KNOW what to do and KNOW where to go...you are going to see a very different result. By firing a coach at the first sign of trouble...or trading a whole team that struggles when their NUMBER ONE player is out...you never allow the system to take root and grow...it would be like ripping up your pot plants before they are ready...I'm sure you guys can relate to that...it seems there are alot of pot smokers posting on this site. Leave them in...let them grow. You people attack Yao...but his numbers are up despite fairly mediocre play...his minutes are up ...and that will be a good thing in a few weeks when TMAC gets back...he (YAO) will be in tremendous game shape...and he will be able to be Robin again (TMAC will be Batman)...And there is nothing wrong with that...Scottie Pippen won many a ring and probably made a place in the Hall for himself by being Robin. And Yao poppin 24 to 30, playing 42 minutes...getting 13 boards with 4 blocks will look alot different when we start winning. Trust me. It won't even matter to you if he misses half of his shots. AND...he (YAO) is no Hakeem Olajuwon so just forget about him emulating DREAM...those come along once in a lifetime...he is a whole different animal...and he can be very, very good as himself. Another good thing...David Wesley is coming out of his slump...he will be needed... Swift will figure it out...and he will be feeling more comfortable soon enough. Luther Head looks to be a very bright spot. And JVG and his staff are the best...take it from me...that IS the guy you want on the sideline come playoff time. Remember, the top 8 teams get a shot at those rings... Relax and enjoy the ride...and don't say or do anything that will make you look like a bandwagon jumper. Nobody likes a loser who only pulls for the winner. Now, I am going to sit down and shut up...TIM BREAUX has spoken...and all is well in Rocketland...
Well put, Tim Breaux. I wish I could articulate my thoughts as well as you. Couldn't have been said any better.
I think if T-Mac wants to play with KG, he would ask to be traded to Miny a year ago. The Wolves had the contracts to work with too. But at that time, T-Mac was only interested in Houston, Indiana, and Detroit. What does those teams have in common? A dominant big man. KG and T-Mac are both perimeter players, and I don't think they can complement each other well. But then again, look at Jordan and Quitten.
The single reason they would do it: Here's ESPN insider quote Get ready for the Kevin Garnett trade rumors, the first of which was quickly shot down Sunday by Kevin McHale and Joe Dumars -- even as others maintained it was legit. Both team executives denied there was any truth to talk that made its way around the league over the weekend that the Detroit Pistons were willing to ship a package including Rasheed Wallace and Darko Milicic to Minnesota for Garnett. The future of the 29-year-old, eight-time All-Star came into question after Garnett's much-discussed interview Thursday night on TNT. Garnett criticized McHale for his handling of the Timberwolves during the troubled 2004-05 season in which Flip Saunders was fired and McHale took over as head coach. Dumars insisted he had not been in contact with the Wolves regarding Garnett, and McHale also dismissed the rumor, which came as executives from others teams were trying to gauge whether the Timberwolves would seriously consider dealing the franchise player who has been with Minnesota throughout his entire 10-year NBA career. Team owner Glen Taylor told reporters in Minnesota that Garnett has "never, ever" sought a trade. "We're not trading Garnett," McHale said Sunday night. The prevailing opinion around the league is that Minnesota, barring a sustained nosedive prior to the All-Star break, would not consider trading Garnett before next summer. With a record of 5-4 following their victory over Charlotte on Saturday night, the Wolves are in first place in the Northwest Division. Garnett is under contract for $18 million this season, then will make $21 million, $22 million and $23 million over the next three years. With Wally Szczerbiak under contract for an equal number of years ($10 million this season, $11 million, $12 million and $13 million the next three), the Timberwolves would have very little salary cap flexibility for the next half-decade unless they jettisoned their two highest-paid players. Minnesota already has a forward (Mark Madsen) and three guards (Marko Jaric, Troy Hudson and Trenton Hassell) signed at least through the 2009-10 season. One source told ESPN.com that the New York Knicks had made Minnesota an offer that included the expiring contracts of Penny Hardaway ($15.7 million) and Antonio Davis ($13.9 million). But for such a trade to work under salary cap rules, the Knicks would also have to take back Sczcerbiak. While that deal would be stunningly lopsided talent-wise, it would relieve the Wolves of $102 million in salary obligations over the next three seasons, allowing them to enter the 2006 offseason with approximately $25 million of cap space. One source close to several NBA players insisted that the viability of the Knicks' offer should not be dismissed, going so far as to say Garnett was making a private push through back channels to be dealt to New York and reunite with former teammate Stephon Marbury. "I'd bet money he'll be wearing a Knicks uniform by the end of February," the source said. Basically they are going to get rid of him probably one way or another, so might as well get a good center for him. To match contracts though we would have to give up DA and/or Wesley (im not sure exact contracts they have) I would do it. Starting 5: Deke, Swift, KG, Tmac, Head That would own
Tmac is injured and Rockets are losing. You are blaming Yao and want to trade him. I have 4 words to you .............. SHUT THE **** UP!
I don't think anyone is blaming Yao, but IF you could get KG I think ANY team would have to take a hard look - except SA and Det - they don't need him. I personally love Yao, but if Minn called and said they would give us KG for him and trash to make the $$$ work I would think long and hard about it.
I think Yao is a great player, as well, but for me, there is no thinking involved. Even if we had to take on Wally's contact (don't even know if we could), but I'd do it in a heartbeat. You can't pass up someone like Garnett. Nearly anyone else, I would say absolutely not. But Garnett, he still has 7 years in him, I think, and been one of if not the best (so difficult between him, Duncan, and few others) for MANY YEARS now!
More likely KG only has 3 years left and then went done the toilet. By the way, I dont think KG + Tmac + Scrubs would be able to beat the likes of Spurs and Pistons. TD + Tmac is a much more complementary combo.
I would not trade Yao, KG isn't willing to play the post, great players, but we have T- Mac on the perimeter. Chemsitry is the problem to me right now, and I hope we have the patience to just let season continue and see what happens.
I haven't had time to read all of the post in this thread, but from a player stand point you would trade Yao for KG any day. KG is a bonafide superstar while Yao is just a star. KG is one of the top 5 players in this league. This trade would never happen because the Rockets have made a commitment to Yao both on the court and marketing wise. Even if the trade would make the Rockets better I can't see them doing that to Yao after the loyalty he's shown to the Rockets.
Tim Breaux has some knowledge to share...so listen up ya'll Yao ain't goin nowhere...that man is gonna be here in H-Town for a long time...and soon...he will be on the upswing...changin all ya'll haters into bonafide Rockets lovers! And that's cool...cause we will take ya'll back. And KG is great! He's my man in fact...we roll. But you better be willin to split that ball in 2 if you plannin on teamin him up with TMAC...and as far as Tim Breaux knows...that ain't something that can be done yet...except maybe on playstation 2 or that x-box...or over at that NASA spot down toward the water... Listen up...and you better believe it...the only way KG comes to Houston is if another hurricaine rolls thu and "The Jet" (my boy from the day) throws another one a dem bb shows. KG would be there then...doin the right thing...but still be wearin a Timberwolves uni. Tim Breaux has spoken...and now I'm goin back to the bench...waitin for my turn to shine. All is well in Rocketland.
Did he tell you that personally or you're just basing your opinion from what you see? I think KG is more effective at PF position because it creates a mismatch in height against other PF in the league.
base on his games, if you ever watch, he is mostly outside shooter and excellent passer, plus great defense rebounder, top five player in the NBA.
It's Garnett's game...he gets most of his points off face-up 15 footers. He has a back to the basket, low-post game...but it's secondary. His game is reversed from Tim Duncan's, who relies mostly on post moves, but will face up and pop the 15 footer if necessary. Some analysts argue that's the main reason why the Spurs have had much more playoff sucess. Don't get me wrong though, he's a top 3 player in my book, and putting him next to TMac would be ridiculous.
