Isnt KG a PF? How was Yao supposed to be guarding KG anyways?
If thats Adelman's order then it simply put RA right beside JVG --- who asked Yao to defend Boozer, we all know how that ended up with.
The idea of letting your un-atheltic 7'6 big man to guard a quick jump shooting PF is r****ded, Its like your asking TD to guard CP3...hows that gonna work?

Yeah he did, shut him down on one end and scored on him every possession down the stretch. I don't think anybody can rely deny it, but Garnett is a Top 5 player in game and one of the best players of all time, not much of a surprise since Yao is not at that level....yet.

    Are you talking about Bball?
    What defense? perimeter defense?Interior defense?
What do you expect? Your 7'6 big man with excellent perimeter defense? Name ONE big man with that kind of ability except The Dream.

Yao is an excellent interior defender, plain and simple.

what do you want coach adelman to do...take yao out of the game...that is nuts...everyone has weaknesses...yao is playing better than ever due to coach adelman's system, sikma and cd's tutelage!

So you did not watch this game?

Well, they switched KG to play at centre, since their 2 centres Pollard and Perkins that had been hacking, pushing, shovelling, elbowing Yao Ming throughout the first 3 quarters were all fouled out in early part of 4Q.

And Rick Adelman just sticks with the traditional way of match up....which is centre to centre.....and did not use Chuck Hayes or Luis Scola for the assignment.

All big men with a good midrange jumper dominate Yao.

You know what i am tired of the most about Yao? I hate, I mean I really hate how if he loses the ball, gets the ball stolen from him, is fouled and there is a no call he freezes and does dumb stuff like check to see if he is bleeding which 99 times out of a 100 he is not or looks to the ref for a foul. I mean is it fair he is getting hacked? No But get a clue man they are not going to call anything, hustle back and play D. We get owned so much because of the 5 on 4 that happen.

    Na I was at work.
I just couldnt believe that RA did the same as JVG --- let Yao guarding athletic jump shooting PF, and its in the crucial 4th quarter.
God damn it, did someone mention that RA is a great coach? Great coaches dont make this kind of r****ded orders.

explain how you define "dominate". i figure it's more accurate to say "many (as opposed to "all") bigs with a good midrange jumper can score (as opposed to "dominate") some on yao."

the way yao gets officiated is just brutal so to continue to come here and read complete f#$king idiots who continue to whine and b**** about him just flat out sucks. i really wish some of you guys would find a new team to root for. i'm frustrated but my eyes tell me all i need to know. just the fact that he's able to do what he does with a complete league wide policy to phase him out is pretty amazing. if he shot the 15-16 free throws a game he probably deserves this place would be talking a different story.

Sports fans are actually the funniest people on this planet. They'll say A owns B, when A himself actually has so much respect for B.

What garnett said after yesterday game:

"I mean, my gas is high," Garnett said. "You know, when you play the best in the league, you can't go in with low gas. You know you got to have a lot of high octane."

The officiating was bad but he is a a all star player who should be able to raise his game above it. Every game has bad calls. This one had way more in favor of the Celtics. That doesnt excuse a lack of execution. How about blocking more than 3 shots a game for a change? How about getting more than 13 rebounds on a regular basis for once. I mean you are the freaking tallest player in the league and you are not fat. Grabs some more boards! Block some more shots! Do something.

i've said it in another thread. truly can't understand why the officiating on yao has not been improved over the years.

What do you expect a 12 year veteran to say. "I owns that biotch in the M-I-N and I owns the biotch in the B-O-S!" ?

He is going to say what you expect to hear form him.

i don't know what you're talking about. yao committed some dumb fouls in this game. the ref actually bailed him out on at least 1 call. he should learn to control his momentum and not to run his defender into the ground. but i guess that's part of his athletic limitation that he can't improve.

arhh, again - get educated. your whining and bashing just had too many holes in 'em like a swiss cheese.

can you help me to recall a single game where yao received fair (not preferential and wade-like, but fair) officiating, ever, pls? your logic is like - "ok, i've legally stripped your weapons in a fight and i've got a shotgun and a knife. now do something to me if you're a tough guy..."
