Man, I was looking at the remaining Celtics roster to see how we might do some 2 or 3 for 1 trade with them. They have nothing left. The most notable guys they have left are Rondo, Perkins, and Scalabrine; notable mostly because those are the highest paid guys of whatever is left. Even if we wanted to do a 2-for-1, we couldn't make salaries match. Celtics at least still have their MLE, right? Who is still worth getting for them out there?
I don't care what anyone says, that's a TERRIFYING trio right there. Defense, offense, clutchness...you name it and those three guys bring it.
You're right..I looked and they only got 11 signed players. They need so sign 4 more players to round out their roster. They could resign the Candyman. I can't believe the guy is still around. Or...since we have like 21 players, we could unload some of our guys to Boston for draft picks. It's either that or the Celtics are gonna have to sign some more of their summer league players. Most of which are not NBA ready yet. But they could bring in the Greek dude but I don't see that they are particularly deep from the summer league players. Although they could try to do what Memphis is trying to do and sign another team's summer league's player ie Wang ZZ. The Celtics are really hurting for backup Centers, PF and true point guards. But have nothing to offer for them. 46 Pat Carroll G/F 6'5" 190 St. Joseph's 11 Glen Davis F 6'9" 289 Louisiana State 59 Torin Francis F 6'11" 252 Notre Dame 58 Andreas Glyniadakis C 7'1" 280 Greece 5 Gerald Green G/F 6'8" 200 Gulf Shores Academy 55 Eric Hicks F 6'6" 245 Cincinnati 0 Leon Powe F 6'8" 240 California 13 Gabe Pruitt G 6'4" 170 Southern California 12 Allan Ray G 6'2" 190 Villanova 9 Rajon Rondo G 6'1" 171 Kentucky 36 Sergio Sanchez G 6'3" 207 Spain 49 Brandon Wallace F 6'9" 203 South Carolina
As great as that trio is, I kinda feel sorry for KG. Maybe I'm still being blinded by the Celtics mediocrity over the past decade, but I really don't think they can win a championship. He's such a great player, I kinda feel bad that he hasn't had a legitimate chance at a championship. I think his best chance was with Kobe and the Lakers, but with the stacked Western conference, even that wasn't a given.
LOL! You could see Doc Rivers anxious to get back to work, vacation be damned! I am happy for Doc...he's always been one of my favorite guys in the league. I am also a big fan of The Truth; one of my favorite non-Rockets in the league.
Boston should go after Brevin Knight pretty hard. If they can get PJ Brown and Brevin Knight with their MLE and have those guys healthy for atleast 65 games... they should go into the playoffs with the #1 seed.

Pierce: YEAH! I got Allen and KG!! What did you get, Kobe? Kobe: *sniff sniff* All I got was Coby Karl and this dumb T-shirt.
ESPN trade story has been updated with contract extension numbers. Kevin Garnett takes a huge salary drop from $23 million down to $14.7 million on the first year of his extension. If KG had gotten his raise, it coud have been $24.7 million in his first year. Celtics get a $10 million discount. ----------------------------------------------------------- http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2956103 The three-year extension breaks down to earnings of $14.7 million in the 2009-10 season, $17.1 million in 2010-11 and $19.5 million in 2011-12. Garnett was already scheduled to earn $22 million and $23 million over the next two seasons
An injury to any of the three = no championship. Considering how Pierce and Allen have both had season-ending injuries in the past, the Cceltics need to make health a priority.
I think Matt Barnes is still available, and I just don't understand what about his game that NBA team don't like. And his attitude is more cockiness than cancerous.
