Haha, you're right because it's the statement made by the teams and not exchange between the 2 players. That totally changes everything. Your disregard is taken as a compliment.
Couldn't agree more. i understand cancer being a serious subject but if a player talks trash to another you don't go on twitter and complain about it. I'm sure plenty of players get called "faggots" on the court but you don't see anybody going on twitter posting about that.
'looks' mentally challenged, not saying they are mentally challenged. its completely different. i can say a girl looks like a w****, but doesn't mean she is.
So you are advocating that players can go beyond the boundaries of good taste and not be held accountable for it?? ANARCHY FOR ALL!!
What did KG say? All I know is what Charlie said he said. Besides it's on the court, that's where it should have been left. On the court. Trash talking happens a lot in basketball and football, there really is no reason to remove it or try to...limit it. So now you want the NBA to say "You can trash talk...but don't say this or don't say that." I think the Players have this 'issue' under control. If what KG said to Charlie offended him whatever, dunk on his head then and see what he says after that. Be careful what you wish for. Just like people complaining about NBA players whining too much, well now you can't even think about getting upset about a call or you risk getting a tech. I actually love when players show their emotions and personality on the court. As long as they are not running into the stands and fighting fans I don't see how this harms the NBA. People watch it mostly for these same personalities. Lebron and his silly dancing pre-game. Dwight and his playful demeanor. Kobe with his intensity and focus. KG and his fake intensity and focus.
What I object to is not KG's fake intensity, he can be a faker for all I care. But when he fakes intensity at the expense of other players through insults and bullying, that's when he crosses the line. I like like tough enforcers, but KG is not one. To quote Russell peters: BE A MAN, DO THE RIGHT THING, and stop being an A-hole.
There's an easy solution to all of this. For me, anyway. When Boston visits the Rockets, I'm going to yell, "Cancer!" every time KG touches the ball. He'll know. My seats are close enough that he'll hear. In 2009 a friend of mine talked trash to Kobe in a regular season game and Kobe actually replied. Once I saw this - my God, not only can they hear us, but what we say even bothers them sometimes - I went nuts on Kobe in the '09 playoffs. Sure enough, with the Lakers down by 28 in the fourth quarter of Game 4, Kobe turned to me and answered my recurring chant of, "You're no Michael Jordan, Kobe! You're no MJ!" by looking me straight in the eye and saying, "Really? No *****!" before taking his seat on the bench. KG's gonna hear it, too. Who's with me?
http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/11/celtics_kevin_garnett_pistons.html Celtics' Kevin Garnett: Pistons' Charlie Villanueva is 'a nobody'
He probably was saying "Nobody wants to hear about the Villanueva incident anymore." We all just heard it wrong.
While I dont condone the ALLEGED comments KG made. I think KG is still among the greatest. Any team that wouldnt have him on they're team, doesnt want to win. Trash talk is made to be on the court. If Villenueva really had a problem he shouldnt have used twitter to address it. Straight b**** move
May have already been posted, but more fuel to the anti-Garnett movement. _____ Joakim Noah dislikes Kevin Garnett Joakim Noah's candor is a quality that separates the Chicago Bulls center from many athletes, and when the subject is Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett, Noah's candor can turn into biting commentary. Bulls blog The latest news from Bulls reporter Nick Friedell. Blog Noah has gone from a fan who once had a Garnett poster in his room to someone who probably has a Garnett photo on his dartboard. "Kevin Garnett will not -- will not -- get a Christmas gift from me," Noah said with a tinge of humor Wednesday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I don't like him." The feud started, or perhaps escalated, during last season's playoffs. After Garnett was suspended for throwing an elbow at Quentin Richardson, Noah -- who was in Cleveland playing the Cavaliers -- chimed in that Garnett was a "dirty player." The most recent incident was Friday night in Boston when Noah received a technical foul, and afterward said of Garnett: "He is who he is." "He's a very mean guy," Noah said Wednesday. "Where's the love? None at all. Ugly, too." Noah said what makes the relationship difficult is how big a fan he was of Garnett before entering the NBA in 2007. "I had his poster in my room," Noah said. "I used to wear his jersey. And the truth is my rookie year, I was in admiration of this guy, and he kind of shut me down. "And he was very mean to me my rookie year. And he's only mean to the young guys and the [European players], for some reason. I don't know why, but that's who he doesn't like. He's not nice. I talk a lot of trash out there, but c'mon, be a little sensitive. Be sweet." link
