So because LeBron struggled playing with an elbow injury that all of a sudden means everyone can beat him up.

Kevin Garnett on Wednesday denied calling Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva "a cancer patient" in a trash-talking rant during the teams' game the night before.

“I am aware there was a major miscommunication regarding something I said on the court last night," Garnett said in a statement from his representatives released by the Celtics. "My comment to Charlie Villanueva was in fact, ‘You are cancerous to your team and our league.’ I would never be insensitive to the brave struggle that cancer patients endure. I have lost loved ones to this deadly disease and have a family member currently undergoing treatment. I would never say anything that distasteful. The game of life is far bigger than the game of basketball.”

After the Celtics beat the Pistons 109-86 Tuesday night, dropping Detroit to 0-4 and sending the team into turmoil, Villanueva wrote on his Twitter account that Garnett had called him a "cancer patient" during a trash-talking rant. Villanueva has no body hair due to a rare autoimmune disorder known as alopecea areata.

"KG talks alot of crap, he's prob never been in a fight, I would love to get in a ring with him, I will expose him," Charlie V tweeted. "KG called me a cancer patient, I'm pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he's tossing it like it's a joke. I wouldn't even trip about that, but a cancer patient, I know way 2 many people who passed away from it, and I have a special place 4 those."

Moments after Garnett's statement was released Wednesday, Villanueva wrote on Twitter, " New day, moving forward, Pistons lets get a win tonight."

you kidding me? thats all spin talk please by the Boston Celtics -- garnett in a statement released by his reps

yeah like KG is going to be screaming on the court "You are cancerous to your team and our league!!"

you rarely hear anyone use the word cancerous to begin with let alone on the basketball court.

this is as transperant as it comes with him

guy is a douche plain and simple

He's probably said something that means what his eloquent press statement said, although i'd imagine his actual words on the court were quite different.

At the end of the day though, within a month or so, no one will even remember it enough to care.

There's nothing quite like saying you want to beat someone up to prove that you aren't a cancer on your team's buttcheek...

Maybe what he actually said was, "You are a cancer ...".

So why is he using the word "cancerous" now? Because this letter isn't from him, its from his publicist who took his side of the story and decided "you are cancerous" sounds less harsh than "you are a cancer."

Not saying that's what is happening, but it would make sense.

    Coach says "Pass the ball."
    Villanueva hears "Chuck the ball."

Completely understandable that he misheard or felt hurt.

Lol, not quite the case. He did it like a lot of high schoolers did and that was for the money and to support his mom.

So instead of saying something to KG about it face to face he goes and put it on twitter what the hell. If Villanueva really had a problem with what KG said he should have told KG to his face he was right there on the court with him.
