WojYahooNBA: Garnett issues statement and says, in part: "My comment to (Villanueva) was in fact 'You are cancerous to your team and our league.'"

WojYahooNBA: Garnett: "I would never be insensitive to the brave struggle that cancer patients endure. I have lost loved ones to this deadly disease..."

I don't believe it. Sorry, KG. Looks a lot like a PR spin.

WojYahooNBA: More Garnett: "...and have a family member currently undergoing treatment. I would never say anything that distasteful."

At this point I guess it is who do you believe because I don't think any proof will come out of it unless one of them admits the other was right.

I could easily see Villanueva interpreting KG comments as calling him a cancer patient.

I don't care what he said, why talk trash in the first place? Let it be man. CV might be bad for his team, but why is it Garnett's concern? I really don't get this part of the NBA...

You don't get trash talk? That's not just in the NBA. It's in every sport.

Every single pickup game you will see people talking trash. Hell in anything that is competitive people talk trash.

hummm...i could see CV maybe changing it to what he remembers...but i dont see KG saying something like that in the heat of the moment during a play. Who trash talks like that? Maybe in a press conference or interview, but during a game?

Not an apology, but a denial.

That's what I thought. Who talks like that? It's as awkward sounding as "You will be iso-ed by us."

And what an absolute bizarre thing to say - has Villanueva garnered a reputation of being a thug? a punk? a bully? I would venture no but if we ask the same questions about Garnett..hmmmm. It reminds me when someone gets called out for something and they really don't have anything so they revert to trying to turn it back on the other person. Really petulant and immature which sounds like our good friend, KG :p

But really think about it - going up to a guy and saying that he is "cancerous" to his team and the league??!! WTF - sounds like Garnett has some emotional issues that he has obviously not worked out.

Do you think NBA players think of the word "Cancerous" when they talk **** to one another? nope.

Can't imagine anybody yelling "YOU ARE CANCEROUS TO THE CHEMISTRY AND BALL MOVEMENT OF YOUR TEAM" as a trash talk. I'd laugh if somebody yelled that at me.
