Garnett and Rondo need to show some class. It's not about being buddies or whatever it was that JVG was talking about. It's about showing some respect for your opponent and shaking his hand for a beating you. It's a sport, not a war. These guys need some perspective.
Not to mention they are role models for their fans. Being a douche on the court like Garnett and then being labeled by the media as it being a good thing turns kids into Garnett steroid-raging douches outside the NBA.
Again really it never fails, a basketball player in the 2K era & after in the internet age will get hated. They're all peas in an arrogant pod. Just some a little more than most. Its almost splitting hairs Remember when D Wade was the humble good guy, the "anti-Kobe"? lol. If you put a spotlight and mic on any top 3 players, over time there will be many evident flaws to pick on. While the Danny Green types of the league stay out of view. But put Danny Green in Lebron's same spotlight and he's gonna show himself to be a similar flawed human being like any others. WHO CARES on either KG or Rondo or Lebron. Look at how Amare went out the last series being an a-hole knocking over Shane Battier then faking a handshake. Thats FAR more classless, just there was actual time on the clock.
There is a difference between being competitive and having class. Rondo and KG are both pricks and I'm glad they both got their asses handed to them in these last two games. Take your beating like a man, shake their hands, collect your millions and move on to next season.
Off the court KG has given more money to charities that some teams combined. He might not be a good sport, but he is a class act. http://www.concepts4charity.org/articles/63.html http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2221292 http://blog.enslow.com/2011/01/kevin-garnett-bowling-for-charity.html
Page 6 of that. That is why I don't watch ESPN much, or pay too much attention to news coverage. There was plenty MEDIA and Adrian Wojnarowski fanning some flames, sensationalizing things making it worse.
There are some good ole stories of KG back here in South Carolina. They aren't pretty but I'm sure most athletes have their rude days. I still don't get why people think NBA players need to shake their opponents hand after a loss. Only thing I will say is they should have waited until the clock hit zero and even then I still don't think it was a big deal.
The crazy crazy thing about this is that people say they don't like Lebron because of "the decision" and the "superfriends" but these same people were hating on him when he was with Cleveland?
i wonder if lebron and wade will stick around to shake KD and westbrooks hands after they get there asses handed to them. dont care, as long as it happens.
We will see if Lebron shakes hands with Durant after the Thunder send the Heat packing in the Finals.
When Lebron did this everybody hated him and stuff, now its like meh no biggie.. Oh and did anyone notice Rondo throw the towel at the camera guy?
Well LBJ proved that he was an ass when he did it, which was before he permanently got the label w/ the decision and the introduction...So 2009 was more of a "damn...didn't know the guy was like this" KG is already a d-bag, and even though he's a great player, LBJ is ranked so much higher, thus its only expected that he gets more scrutiny.
kg is very passionate about the game and I respect that. But he needs to seperate it from life and know that it is just a GAME. - be compeetitve by all means but shake hands withthe opponent after the series. Not because they are friends but to congratulate them on a hard fouight series won and to accept defeat. - rondo since he was in high school has always been known to be a brat so i dont care about him
