wat a ****ing idiot, hes like a little baby, my god grow up, this guy is a dumbass idiot, i hope he has a horrible year next year, o dallas dint try to shut down tracy or yao, they tried to shut down me.....BS
Yeah that kind of shows you were his head is, I mean that is just a silly statement, not that he wasn't a very important part of our team during the playoffs but Yao and Tmac were tearing up the Mavs, the rest of the team didn't show up esp. in game 7
People, considering this was MJ, the interview(s) weren't bad at all. For him, they were quite good. The call he had with Matt & Adam on AM610 a few weeks ago was the unforgettable moment! Today was nothing but a very calm, measured fireside chat.
The guy definitely needs to work on his speech. Hot headed dude. But, I understand him and dont blame him for stability. All he wanted is some loyalty. Will you want to work for a company laid you off once without more sincere contract?
Yeah -- like others have said, this was a stellar interview by Mike James' standards. Way more coherent than the SR610 interview several weeks ago. That said ... the Rockets did the right thing...thanks but no thanks. I think I nearly choked when I heard him call himself a very humble person.
I love mike james as a player and a person, and this reinforces it. Awesome interview. The Rockets made a mistake last year and compounded it this year. Well, I'm psyched for 2007 -08 season.
This was a classic interview!! At least he spoke how he felt. I get tired of hearing athletes say what the people want to hear, its about time we hear how athletes really feel. I tell you what, the rockets will regret thay didnt give that 4th year. This guy has the heart and fire that tmac and co dont have. I get tired of uninspired play, mike james brings it every night. Horrible move by the rockets!!! Who is going to be the 3rd scorer? juawn cant do it....battier isnt an offensive player....Horrible move. And mike james shot 45 percent from 3....come on, he was the missing piece...horrible move CD!!
What a freak man, that is complete BS. He played horrible in Game 7 didnt he? I am so glad we didn't get him now. To say that he is better than Tmac AND Yao at any time is just ridiculous. This guy really overestimates himself and I don't think he would have shared the ball as much as we would have liked. Good riddance.
This is just odd. I thought the best thing about James is he would go to Houston for less because he wants to be there, but this has all gotten out of hand. Minnesota? And trashing a team that he publicly stated his preference for joining? What is the point? Well, on the positive side, at least we have the MLE and the 2 TEs left.
I don't mind that he took the best offer. Really. I can understand why someone would want to wring every last dollar out of the nba if they can. This is Mike's last shot at the big money, and I don't begrudge him a cent of it, really. But at the same time, Mike earns more next year than I am am likely to scrape in over the rest of my career. It grates to hear him complain about respect, being traded, etc., because it reeks of a lack of respect for the guys who work normal jobs for normal paychecks and buy season tickets to pay his salary. I mean, seriously, who here wouldn't move a family around to earn 5.4 million dollars a year for 4 years and have the rest of their lives to spend with that family without having to work again. Ever.
arjun, I want to apologize to you. I thought you made this stuff up... until I heard it myself... I am speechless.
Some people want to look down on him for really expressing how he feels, but he earned some respect with his play. Why not give him the special treatment he wants. I mean he's still only going to get the full MLE. Give the guy his option and his kicker and the Rockets Salvage their offseason to some degree, but no. Rockets are crashing and burning.
LOL first segment near the end was pretty funny. that interviewer almost got mike james to tell everyone his decision. it was pretty obvious by that point.
Since you guys appear to have forgotten, both McGrady and Yao got their's in Game 7. MJ was...shut down and we were blown out of the building. He was the difference in Game 6. They put Darrel Armstrong on him in Game 7 and the rest is history (before he was ejected). I have no trouble believing that the game plan was to shut down Mike James.
Wrong, the problem is Mavs shut down EVERYONE not named Yao D. Wesley 2-9 B. Sura G 0-2 T. McGrady 10-26 difference maker S. Padgett 1-6 Y. Ming 13-23 J. Barry 1-6 M. James 2-7 (only 17 min)
MJ was shut down? How about MJ only played 17 minutes because he got ejected. We lost because no one outside of Tracy or Yao could hit a shot. Padgett 1-6 Wesley 2-9 James 2-7 Sura 0-2 Barry 1-6 Bowen 0-2 Norris 0-1 http://www.basketball-reference.com/games/boxscore.cgi?date=2005-05-07&tm1=DAL&tm2=HOU But yeah, we lost cuz they shut down Mike James.
