Its hard to say who is the better stretch because both guys seem to play for a flash, and then get injured. Just from looking at the shot alone, I never trust TJ's shot to drop just because it looks so ugly Personally, I believe DMO is the mush better fit with the starters. As we saw last year, DMO is not going to use his strength as his biggest advantage on both sides of the ball; because this is a polar opposite of Howard, it seemed to work well. Ever since Jones became the starter in year 2, I've always seen him do some amazing things on both sides of the ball, but those great plays always were counter acted with bone headed plays: bad fouls, losing his man on defense, just basic basketball IQ failings. It sucks that he has to start the season with injury questions, but this guy could easily be the best backup big in the game and extend starters leads even more

Bill Cartwright had the ugliest shot in the world along with several other players. But I bet you can't stop Jones. Lol
One of the first "stretch 5's" the game had, Sam Perkins, had a very similar release as Jones... Who gives a s@&$? He's not a three point specialist and as someone whose skillet is what it is for the role he has, having the three point shooting consistency he has is a bonus instead of a liability. Ok that's enough contribution for one day to this ridiculous merry go round argument.
Dobro you have a few people in here who are not true rocket fans period and there's two posters who truly bring the hate and childish petulance to the garm. They need to be ignored. I'm rooting for both DMO and for TJ. Go rockets.
no. Not with the Rockets system. They are both ignored and that's why they MUST try to punish the defences. This way they will make the defender guard them more close and it will open the lanes more for Lawson and DMO. These wide open shots MUST be taken. That's the point. I read an article about this a week ago. Will try to see if I can find it later. Putting Jones and Capella frontcourt along with only Bev is so bad idea I can't even describe it. DMO and Capella you at least have some rim protection ( waiting to see because the sample was not enough) plus a good offensive weapon. Why you think its' so important that DMO starts? It all has to do with FIT not with who is better. I think that DMO is better but I want the team to win.

Thread looks like another 'holic and BTG love-fest on the usual topic. Wondering why DudeWah chose not to make it a 3-way this time?
There seems to be a lot of discussion here about who should start between Jones and DMo. Are we thinking the Rockets are going to keep both the full season and then lose one for nothing? Also, it seems the argument may be moot at the beginning of the year with DMo's injury, which really concerns me. Not going after Josh Smith harder really doesn't seem to make any sense.
