What are you talking about? Yao basicly carried the team when Tmac wasn't able to play, Landry wasn't even in the roation, Scola fouled like crazy, Rafer couldn't throw the ball into the ocean. Whe everything came together and Yao was playing, Rockets won last 16 games Yao played, 10 road games in a row, blew out a healthy NO teams on the road etc. Does that sound like "Ewing theory" at all?

How you can look for all those excuses when Yao was not playing, but ignore those same things when Yao was playing and got the conclution that rockets play better without Yao is beyond me.

    yes yes,

    yao theory seem very prausible

during this crucial moment of our 2008 Playoff Run.

i like this theory but what about the length of time between the injury to Yao and Mr. Ewing?

ur point was the knicks made it to the finals without him, but then again it was pretty much game two of the conference finals....so the knicks showed up by using the motivation of the Ewing theory to reach the finals but not win the championship. A short burst.

A short burst like the extra 10 wins on top of the already given 12.

However the Ewing equations exemplifies that the theory can work from either a short burst of time to a whole season (i.e. manning and the TV)

by already using the name Ewing in this theory....its seems 40 million times more relevant TO US AND THE CITY OF HOUSTON (being rockets fans and all) because Ewing was a center in the NBA and Yao is too!

which brings me to a side note of my own friggin cosmic theory.

What if JVG's "trade or firing or whatever it's supposed to be" is this year's "Ewing theory" for the 2008 rockets since JVG coached Ewing in the ULTIMATE EXAMPLE of this....lol...theory--

But my main point is, heck yeah...this theory will be great if it works...but i as a houston fan thinks that the 2008 response to our "Ewing Theory" was a 10 plus game winning streak en route to an NBA Record.

IROC, you did say that we're gonna find a way to regenerate this phenomena for this year's post season.

My question is, what must happen in order for this plateau to be reached once again for the 2008 MOTHER FREAKIN PLAYOFFS!!?

    my suggestions

    1. An injured McGrady leaves the court in the middle of a first round playoff game...unable to continue in the series. We will then find that dynamic teamwork of chemisty since we lost our best current player (who at times can seem controversial) and re-ignite the Rockets to break out of the worst post season slump ever!

    2. Yao Ming sends the Rockets a special playoff message before the beginning of our first playoff game at home....sayin that if he could go out and play for us, he would...reminding us that he got injured and making the Rockets tell themselves..hey, our star got injured...remember that? Let's go kick some ass cuz history is on our side. At this moment, yao ming chunks the peace sign with both hands to show his leadership, signifying the ultimate number of our year...and leaving off with a quote on the jumbo-tron:

"It's TIME to win the CHAMPIONSHIP"

    Houston goes wild. Right?

    3. The Ewing theory takes effect cuz it floods back to the top of the Forum board, trickling down psychological undertones from the readers and posters that if this phenomena were to happen once again...it's got to start taking action NOW.

I'm diggin' some Yao Theory. Why not keep the subject cool? Follow up...
