Believe. Remind each other that they finished the season as the best team for a reason. Remain confident..focused..together. We will win.
I'm not going to list the keys that we have already seen in these playoffs that the team is capable of (Capela playing well, defensive intensity, etc) but rather the things that the team has not been doing this postseason that have to change if we want to win. There are 2 1. Better bench play -Eric Gordon has had one good game in the postseason. He has to be more consistent if we want to beat them. We can't have our third leading scorer struggling for the majority of the series -Mbah Moute has been good on defense but against the Warriors, everyone has to elevate their game a little bit so having him knock in some threes as well would go a long way -Ryan Anderson. Man having a guy with a 20 million dollar contract who looks unplayable is rough. We have to cross our fingers that he can regain some of his old form -Nene will get some minutes and will do what he does and as far as GG is concerned you just have to hope he heats up in a couple games like he did against Minnesota. Overall as it stands the bench needs to get better to win this series because having your top bench player struggling, your 20 million dollar man becoming unplayable, and Mbah Moute working his way back from injury and not contributing as much as he used to on offense is quite a hurdle 2. Better three point shooting. This one is pretty simple, the Rockets have not shot that well from beyond the arc except for a few games. We are going to have to step it up and limit our cold shooting nights as much as possible. Utah and MN dont have the firepower to really make us pay outside of a game here and there but the Warriros do
a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Not sure 4 steals disproves my opinion that he looked lazy on defense and sulked on his way down the floor when he didn't get a call
Not saying the Rockets are going to do this, but again, Ryno had 28 rebounds in 3 games against the Warriors this year which is almost twice his per minute numbers. I don't know if he will play much but he's shown he can be viable against them this year. I think DAntoni might give him at least one game in the rotation
1. Make Curry play defense every time we have the ball 2. Make Shawn Livingston shoot over taller defender 3. Funnel Klay and Steph into Capela 4. Shoot better from 3
Number 1 and only one, keep moving the ball, this allows us to get to the 3 point line before the defense gets there. Utah beat us game 2 because we came put trying to beat them slow 1vs1 iso lazy stagnant offense. We have to move around
1. Clint Capela. Has to protect the paint and punish GS for going small. 2. Hit our threes. We've sucked from downtown so far. 3. Improve depth. Our rotation has taken a hit since Ryno, Green, and Nene have appeared unplayable. They need to get it together or we're in trouble. 4. Chase them off the line. Pretty much impossible, but if we can encourage them to take the midrange that's the best we can hope for.
Are you his mother? He is a great player that needs to rise above not getting a foul call and work defensively when his shot isnt falling. Time to finish your homework.
It’s all about Neutralizing draymond green. Can Capela deal with his aggression, dirtiness and muscle. Will we need to use PJ Tucker on him instead and leave ourselves with no rim protection? Win this matchup and we win the series.
