    I’m rooting for KPJ.

I loathed watching him play pg the last couple of years, but KPJ as an off ball wing is why I was initially excited about getting him from CLE.

I hope he embraces this new role and excels. He has the skill set to be a very good player in his new role.

KPJ lost his mind when the Cavs moved his locker for a new guy. Now he's loses his starting spot to a new guy and he has no issue with it...... Ok....

He was also how old? 19? The kid has grown up a LOT and has been humbled.

If KPJ learns to do these three things on offense and only these three things then he will be a valuable player:

    Pass
    Shoot
    Attack

    Nothing in between

I am excited to see him and all the others in a proper system. People that blame him for last year are not thinking very deeply, he had no system, no coach, and was just told to go beat the other team off the dribble.

KPJ has a lot more in him, if he is properly coached, and I believe IMe will bring it out of him, and I don't believe his time at PG is over either, I think he will get some burn there this year, as well as at SG, SF and PG......

KPJ is a very very very good NBA player - and it is time for the fanbase of the Rockets to get behind ALL Rocket's players.

IF KPJ accepts the role — he has definitely matured but still not guaranteed he will accept it — he could be very very dangerous. He has all star skills and is one of our best shooters.

He could be our Manu 6th man that can also finish games.

I’m super excited to see him play this year — to see all of our guys play. So much potential.

What would you do? Let's say you changed positions for the good of the organization, had a very good year at 19-5-6 playing with teenagers, and the org signs you to an extension and you are FINALLY getting a coach - when the org brings in a veteran combo/pg - would you be a little upset? Sure, most of us would be, it is all about how he handles that - hopefully he gets a bit pissed and busts his butt in training camp, and forces his way into major minutes.

If he busts his ass, he will, if he sulks, he will be left behind and will be on another team soon enough.....this will be the true test of his maturity - it is better for the ROCKETS if this mercurial talent accepts the challenge, and that is what I am cheering for......

I think folks are sleeping on Tate and his versatility under Ime. I’m really excited for him. I think he’s going to really thrive.

People thinking they have it all figured out on whom will play and where and minutes are full of it. Ime will probably change his mind several times before settling on a rotation.

IMHO, we will struggle until that happens - my guess is late December.

COULD be a good 6th man if he accepts the role.

    But comparing Porter to Manu?

The same HIGH BBIQ Manu that was all heart, tough as nails, an Integral part on multiple championship teams and a consumate team player, that's also in the HOF???

    WOW

Yes, exactly, he has that level of talent, Manu was also a high turnover, low efficiency player early in his career but you could see his talent and Popovich had to modify his behavior in coaching to accept it and Manu thrived.

I was merely pointing out success stories of good player who accepted a 6th man role, doesn't mean that KPJ will get there, but you as a Rockets fan should be hoping he does, right? RIGHT?

I mean if KPJ accepts that role at least for now, it makes our team better, that is what REAL Rockets fans want.

I really think Amen is going to gradually take more and more minutes from KPJ as the season goes on, and it'll probably end with Porter Jr demanding a trade. Amen is going to be the real "most versatile" player, he's better at a lot more things than KPJ is, with the only exception being shooting. He'll be able to guard from the 1 up to 4 in a pinch, he can play like a true point guard when FVV is off the court or off the ball, he'll be an elite rebounder when backing up either guard spot, he'll rack up steals and blocks.

Knowing the kinds of things Ime Udoka values, I think he's going to have a hard time keeping Amen on the bench playing only 15 minutes per game given all the different ways he helps, and the guy who that takes minutes from is undoubtedly KPJ.

I expect Amen will be getting around 28mpg by season's end and KPJ will be benched from having another incident and/or traded away at the deadline.

That might happen but I see Brooks and Tate as the ones that gets left behind.

If he accepts that role he could be real good.

But you can't compare him to Manu.

    Look at WS's and BPM.

    Not close.

Manu was smart. Played the right way.

Porter has a chance to change things this year.

As do the rest of them.

Man DD really out there thinking KPJ has Manu levels of talent. Manu actually had a really high BBIQ.
