Everyone talks about Porter (and he does stand out) but Martin is rapidly improving without any collegiate experience. He is such an explosive athlete at times that it is actually jarring to watch. Yes he has some major issues to work on (shooting and ball handling) but he has a very high ceiling.

I forgot he was 6'5-6'6. Plus he's only like 18-19 years old.

Can he pass the ball? What else can he do apart from shot blocking on defense?

It was a dunkfest for KJ Martin so I'm still hesitant. Athleticism is good. Just need to see if he can shoot consistently and handle the basketball.

Stone is a good drafter though if he can find that with the 52nd pick.

The way Martin flys is special. He literally looks like he’s walking on air stairs. He seems to have another level of springs in his legs. Can his jump out of the gym athleticism be molded into becoming an all around good basketball player? Who knows. But there’s definitely something to work with.

not sure why Martin Jr isn't playing with the Rockets right now. We really could have used him with Wood going down as we desperately need some rim defense.

Propping up assets would be the logical reason. After the trade deadline allocated minutes for the rockets could be way way different

Yeah and way way out of playoff contention.
I'm not a fan of tanking because it doesn't guarantee you anything. Just a season of garbage basketball to sit through. We're getting a low 1st rounder no matter what we do.

I’ve been a fan of KJ since the first preseason game he played in. He just moves different. You can’t teach what he has. It’s elite. Hopefully he’s a hard worker.

Yes, the Vipers have his rights. I think he has to clear waivers before he can resign with the Vipers

And best of all, he's not timid. The stage, at least at the G-League level, isn't too big for him. Since he skipped college, I honestly expected to see mediocre results from him, even with the Vipers, until he'd gotten used to playing against this level of talent.

It's pretty damn exciting that he's already progressed this far.

People have noted Marion, but the other one that comes to mind is Gerald Wallace.

If you want to take a rosy outlook for the future, the Rockets have two very high upside offensive pieces in Wood and Porter Jr, and two very high upside defensive pieces in Tate and Martin under long term control
