It was Mayor Gerald. At the time, many assumed that was it for his NBA career. Fortunately for all involved, the Heat kept their mouths shut about whatever it was that occurred, and Gerald himself seemed to take it as a wakeup call. The rest is history, with a happy ending now possible.
Literally the first time I ever heard of this. I don’t know how I missed this. And why do Heat players always seem to bug out on drugs? Wasn’t there a player recently that has a panic attack from weed gummies on the team plane?
I hope the Rockets sit him down for the year unless he is needed. He needs to sit with Lucas everyday and work on his mental health. I know many people here are excited to get him because of his talent but people need to realize a guy with that talent being given for just a protected second round draft pick should be a slight red flag. Cleveland didn't get rid of him because of his talent. They got rid of him because there are certain things in his head that just aren't right. Whatever demons he is fighting inside I hope this franchise finds a way to help him through it all.
It's kinda hard to say that since nobody knows what's going through his head. Being on the court and part of a team could be just what he needs.
You can't heal something mental by taking a person away from their harmless passion or by using a reward/punishment system, especially for a 20 year old. I hope they put his mental health in the hands of a professional, rather than a basketball coach who pulled a few people out of drug addiction (which is not the healing part btw).
