Kevin Porter Jr traded to the Rockets

Most people know about Porter's issue and the other guy... most people can't even say his name.

 

Yeah, KPJ is a much higher profile guy and was basically forced off his last team for mental/emotional issues.
Rodions issues have been discussed just as much in his threads. There were full court reports brought in there.

I don't know why they don't just throw KPJ into the fire and have him play in games. If we were contending, I'd understand not giving many rotation minutes to him, but we're as far from contending as possible at this point. So why not play him, and speed up his conditioning?

 

Can you show me where it has been discussed by local Houston media because I haven’t seen it. ESPN was discussing Kevin Porter having supposed domestic violence issues but I have heard zero on Rodions on ESPN. The only place I have seen anything was in NY/NJ.

Could I have missed it? Sure but I am usually pretty good at following.

 

They are getting him the help he needs and gauge his comfort/happiness/stability before really mixing him in.

Maybe they're thinking a bit about the person and not just the athlete? The guy obviously has had issues, but seems like a sweet, intelligent dude in interviews... maybe he just has anger issues or something. I already saw how badly the Eddie Griffin situation turned out, and I don't want something like that to happen with this kid. Luckily John Lucas knows a lot about the EG situation and people like Stone were here towards the end of EG's life even though EG wasn't a Rocket at the time.

 

He's been through a lot recently. He deserves the time to get through whatever it is.

 

I love Rockets taking risks on players who are highly talented, but head isn't in the right direction. I can't wait to see him grow and be a changed man as Houston Rockets.
