Yes, I think outside of serving, whatever suspension the league sees fit, he has paid his due. Especially if he takes good care of the female for the rest of their lives. My point is simply toward 3-5 people on here that irrationally defend and twist reality to fit their pre-incident narrative. Like coming on here to say….oh I was right about Porter Junior is kind of insincere. It would stand to reason that you wait 2 to 4 seasons of him behaving well before that could even be an argument. So it shows the insanity. Personally, I don’t think he is a winning player and I don’t expect him to have a whole ton of impact on the Clippers. Or maybe he is ok this year and then goes off rails. There is no way that I would want that guy around Reed, Amen or Cam.
I like to think people learn from their mistakes. Some people it takes multiple times, it just is what it is. My thing is none of us know KPJ outside of what was relayed through the media. My hopes are that he succeeds. Because if that were me, I would want people to wish the best for me, rather than for me to continue to fail.
That was all non guaranteed, he lost 0 in guaranteed money. He would have been mostly a bench warmer anyway cause of fvv so most likely he would have been cut anyway
You can’t punish from a point of accusation. If there’s proof of guilt, punish accordingly. Once said punishment is served, it’s served and the player/person can move forward with their career/life accordingly. It seems like some people want KPJ/Bridges banned (maybe jailed?) for life, but that’s not the conclusion the courts/league are coming to. But hey, I will say this, what they did is ethically worse than what Jontay did.
You REALLY think they were going to cut him after it was rumored they tried to resign him this yr?? Come on!
Just cause stone made a mistake trading for him and signing him to the extension doesn’t mean for sure he would have made a 3rd mistake. Most likely though he would have, sadly. I never saw any rumors the rockets wanted him back
there was reporting that he had a few suitors; not just the Clips. This, along with the 3-yr $75 mil Miles Bridges signing, is a sad commentary on the nba at this moment.
Talent is what matters.... and making a mistake that isn't a capital crime shouldn't result in a death sentence. I guess I just don't get the lynch mob mentality. The way I see it, commit a crime, pay the price.... hopefully learn the lesson and move on with life. KPJ paid a higher price for his crime than most here will make in their lifetime... yet apparently that's not enough for some apparently.
Completely taking away someone's career... and only way they have to provide for themselves forever, in some ways is more cruel than an actual death sentence. Either way, a fine of tens of millions of dollars is already excessive punishment for just about any non financial crime that doesn't leave someone dead or permanently disfigured. Thinking that is insufficient punishment is just absurd. It's the kind of thinking that should permanently restrict you from ever being able to serve on a jury or honestly being in a position to make any serious decisions that could even potentially effect any non family member.
I do want to see KPJ go up against a Ime defense. I'm marking the Clippers games. Hope KPJ isn't suspended for those games. Not because Im rooting for him but rather I just want to see how the dynamic plays out due to drama.
In honor of @DaDakota and all he brings to cf, the live chats, and his vigorous appreciation of KPJ, I declare this @DaDakota appreciation day.
