Maybe I am, but I do believe you throwing around the word fact to support these claims is a little too un-technical. I think your using the term FACT a little too lightly IMO.

This is not entirely true. You can pull articles all you want to oversimplify your case here for each point, but there was much more in play here then just one thing or one person in both cases. The "letting go" of Adelman, and the hiring of McHale that is.

I recall an interview before the Minnesota game here in Houston where Adelman was interviewed and he confirmed that he had very little communication with Les (and hinted that this relationship might not be solid, althought this is speculatory), but confirmed that he had a good relationship with Morey which is why they both tried to come to an agreement after the season was up.

You can't just point to one thing or another and say "thats the reason." It was a culmination of different things, but I recall the main sticking point in the negotiations for a contract extension that stood in the way of them not extending his contract was something that Rick said himself that he just could not agree to. Jonathan Feigan would later say that he was aware that this one thing was changing up the assistant coaching staff and adding some fresh blood... ala Chris Finch.

So did they disagree on things that led to both parties deciding to walk away??... Yes, absolutely. Did they "Disagree on everything".... no way. They at least agreed on enough to go to the negotiating table at the end of the season and both try to come to an agreement. They didn't come to an agreement, and both parties walked away mutually. Nobody was fired or quit unnannouced.

Again, you can assume that, but there is no factual backing to this argument. Its probable that Lawrence Frank has more of an analytical mind, but you could have also said the same thing about Jeff Van Gundy Vs. Rick Carlisle since Rick was a player and Van Gundy worked his way up through the ranks just like Frank did. However, after the NBA finals in 2011 Mark Cuban talked about how they actually did implement statistical analysis quite a bit into their gameplan, and Van Gundy himself has spoken at the Sloan conference about how little he used to use as a coach.

Just because McHale has a background as a player doesn't mean he's never picked up a book on Quantitative Method, and vice versa. Yes, its probable that Frank knew more about Stats then McHale did at the time, but that shouldn't conclude that Morey wanted Frank more than McHale just because of that one attribute he might or might not have been stronger in.

Yes, Les had the final say so. You know why?... Its his F-ing team, and he writes the paychecks. Thats how it is at any job.

In my earlier post I was being sarcastic about them hiring a smart coach vs. a dumb one. Thought you would pick up on that one.

All i know is with Rick Adelman he always squeezed the most talent of out his teams, look at the Wolves last year contending for the 8th seed before the Rubio injury

Whenever we had good talent with Adelman we usually made playoffs or finished above .500. Listen i love the Chuckwagon, but the fact that Adelman was able to win 43 games with a 6'6 center in this day and age, says a LOT about him as a quality coach

I expect the Wolves to be contenders, if they stay healthy

Im intrested in seeing how the younger players take to McHale or if he burns them out too quickly

I think Adelman has a good even keeled temperament for a head coach. Sturdy, knowledgeable, and still patient to a degree. But he knows what he's looking for. Professional all-around. CF didnt stick a monocle on him for nothing.

(Though like all coaches, a bit too much comfort level toward veterans and set rotations)

Compared to McHale who's a bit pushy in his demeanor, and taking a more a basic fundamentals approach to the game.

Perhaps McHale has a bit of the "Michael Jordan Overconfidence" toward personnel decisions where he thinks just urging his competitive brashness instills a "winning" climate. But its still about X's and O's and realizing the skills of players and how to get the best out of them. That MIGHT be MAYBE where McHale can have an effect on big men cuz of his knowledge of low post play. McHale should be the 2nd/3rd best guy after Hakeem to learn from IF he's a good teacher.

This is the last thing i'll say about about Adelman, because i must respect Kevin Mchale as our new coach. But look at the players he got and look at how much he made them better. Scola, Lowry, Budinger, Chuck Hayes to name a few... Patrick Patterson looked like a BEAST under Adelman.. Lowry was seen as a BUST in Memphis. Look at what he did to Brooks, and other assests more gets, he coaches them up. Bottomline is, if you cant play for Adelman... YOU JUST CANT PLAY IN THE NBA. He got Jordan Hill to play somewhat decent at times

Adelman is a very underrated coach in bringing out the best in his players. Look at what Adelman did for Dragic( seen as a BUST in Phoenix), last 3 games of the season he has 3 triple doubles, where is Budinger if he had not been coached by Adelman.. def not worth the #18 pick in the draft

VSPAN probably would have panned out in Houston, if Adelman was coaching him. not trolling

Common factor between the two...they both were starters who lost their jobs..parsons, dragic, scola, Patterson, and camby all liked McHale so I don't think it's about more than losing their starting spots

Looks like blame-shifting seems to run throughout the Rockets organization. Time to clean house.

the only i HATED about McHale was the fact that we had to big centers and would put a pf in the center's position in the 4th quarter
