Mchale hater here...taking his lumps...he had a dang good game plan... Once again, ive only really been mad at his in game adjustments...We werent punished at the second half, bc Scott Brooks really didnt make much him self...and couldve cost him a game tonight..but they will be ready for the 3 guard set Friday...
No criticism on McHale tonight, and the first game was on the players, blowouts usually are. I always thought that the playoffs would be his real test, so far he's passing and earning the job for next season.
You are right. He had one good coaching effort out of a 84 game season. He is clearly coach of the year material.
I'll give him credit for such an unpredictable lineup. He took a huge gamble and somewhat won. In an alternate universe we would have been outrebounded by a large margin and could potentially have lost by 50. That being said hope he brings some new stuff to the table by Game 3 or the Rockets are dead in the water. The only way to beat OKC is to pull out all the stops.
Hey RedRedemption, I never said he was coach of the year. In fact this is only my second post (both today). I have very much been a McHale hater for most of the year, especially for his rotations and not having them settled before playoffs and the uncertainty it caused (actually his rotations are still not settled). But surely you have to give him kudos for starting Bev, the ball movement and drives to the basket, the zone... he did a good job tonight!
Even in his best coached game this entire year, he lost the game when the Thunder went on a 13-0 run in the 3rd quarter. Every single game the Rockets have a coaching disadvantage mismatch
You can't blame the coach for every loss man! C'mon. The PLAYERS were the ones out there turning the ball over and not getting back on D, the coach can't run out on the court and do something You act like he keeps all-stars on the bench for no reason except to make us lose the game. We have inexperienced rookies on our bench. Doesn't matter which ones he plays they are all inconsistent.
He should get the credit for the adjustment. Sure it was a gamble, but we had nothing to lose after game 1. Keeping status quo would have been worse. At least he tried something and should be applauded. And you can see that they did practice some plays. That inbound play before half time was clearly designed in advance. If the gamble didn't work last night, there would have been more meme materials for this thread.
I doubt that McHale thought up the adjustments all by himself. He finally listened to his assistants. The fact that finally they practised some plays and showed a zone defense makes the PHX and LAL losses all the more glaring.
If you doubted whether I was serious or not then you need to take a deep breath and relax...Take a break from pc go to playground have some fun and real basketball. Go rent some comedy movies.. chill out and have some fun. Go find some person to make love to, then find some more persons to make love to, then find some more persons to make love to....consequently when they give birth to your kids play with the kids. love them be kind to them and learn from them. A serious person should not take himself and others seriously....
