http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2012/04/16/ZOOM0001MOV-2068664/index.html McHale will only play Kevin Martin if they need free throws. He said Martin hasn't really had a run in 5 weeks. It sounded like Martin really requested to suit up
Gotcha. Sorry guys, I assumed since he was going to be in uniform and "limited", that he would be playing limited minutes. At least we know that Kevin is indeed getting healthier and ready for action and to a lesser extent, where the Rockets stand with Kevin going forward the year.
I like the fact that (at least from the McHale interview) Kevin Martin is trying to play for the Rockets and trying to suit up to help the team. Courtney Lee missing two tech free throws annoyed me
I am with you on that....I think the rockets need his scoring ability especially if they make the playoffs...I dont see how people knock Martin who is our top scorer but lee can have more bad games than good and no one complains...I will take Martin and what he can potentially deliver on any givin night over lee every time...
Why are people even upset that he is coming back on the team? At worse we take him out, and at best he gets back to form and helps our scoring woes. He IS the best scorer on this team whether he is a popular player or not. He is also the best player on this team at getting cheap buckets. We could have used him the last 3 games.
Martin will be crucial if we want to make noise in the Playoffs. He is our only 20 PPG scorer, off the bench he could be deadly.
My guess is that Martin is feeling good tonight, likely after going through a work-out yesterday without setbacks. However, McHale is likely not playing him until they've had a chance to put him through a regular practice or two (which they obviously have not had since last night).
