hmm why do we want to ship out Martin again? I'm sure Denver would take him in a heart beat after tonight's performance
And Melo put up 50. Martin is horrible on defense and not clutch. If we can get something for him I am all for shipping him out. also whoever said he is the MVP has not noticed our win-loss with Chuck Hayes.
Was he guarding Melo or at all responsible for those 50 points? I'll give you maybe 4 for not helping funnel him towards the right help defense.
Wow Melo was so clutch his team won the game. Err wait, that didn't happen Meh put up a thread showing KM actually performs well during the clutch. Why don't you check it out first before talking about stuff you don't understand.
Something? Good job elaborating on who you think DM would trade him for. His production exceeds his salary. DM wanted him for a while & isn't about to ship him out unless it's for a bonafide all-star. I've been saying it all season. Build around Martin, Scola, and Lowry. Try to keep Battier and Hayes for toughness. Add a star and a legit big and we're right there in the declining western conference.
I won't be impressed until he can put up those kind of numbers consistently and get a team into the playoffs.
30 2nd half points is scrub work . Melo went lets see 50 w/ 0 assists, Martin went 37 with 7 assist. Meaning he earned us AT LEAST 51 points....
Well that's what happens when you inherit a team crippled with contracts like Mcgrady's and Yao's. It's quite simple to understand actually. Kudos to Morey for building a roster like this in the first place.
Who has ever put up numbers like that on a consistent basis? The GOAT? Besides, Kevin Martin could probably care less about your arbitrary qualification as to what makes a player great.
I don't understand Kmart hate... He is an amazing scorer, he's not making max contract so why do people expect him to play like Lebron, Kobe ect... Thats not who he is but any superstar would love to have his efficient scoring next to them.. Lets play which players not on their rookie contract make have a higher PER and make less Money then Kmart. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl.../insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics
Those kinda numbers consistently? Seriously. He's not going to do that, but he is averaging 23 ppg on 44% FG, 40% 3FG, and 89% FT.
We need Kmart right now, keep him around. Get a Center that does NOT involve trading him. With a good Center in the middle, Kmart's stats, mostly offensive, will outweigh his defensive woes.
Exactly. You take the cards you've been dealt with and move forward. Scola, Hayes and Lowry were supposed to be the roleplayers built aroung 111. Unfotunately that didn't pan out. Rather than starting from scratch just because you're supposed to build around a superstar, you get your role players now and then target a superstar. Getting rid of Scola et al. just because you want to rebuild doesn't make sense at all since you won't get equal value in trades for them.
Your an idiot. Thats why he is getting paid 10 million and not 21. Think about it, Jared Jeffries is getting about 7.....JARED JEFFRIES! How much more production can you get with a contract like that? We have the right to b**** about him not closing games when he starts getting paid like a guy that closes games.
Martin did that against one of the league's best perimeter defenders and fouled him out of the game on top of it.
Oh, KM just outscored DEN n the 3rd quarter, enabling us to build a cushion so that we didn't a closer in the closing minutes. Melo put up 50 pts but the rest of the team just stood around. And I thought he was supposed to make his teammates better.
