I like Martin and Scola, but I would trade them both for say Derrick Favors.

I am not convinced that Morey can find enough talent to win a ring with Scola and Martin.

First off, we need a stud, borderline allstar available C.

Second, we need an all-star, defense first, wing.

I am not sure that is possible without giving up Martin or Scola.

I would give up Luis Scola for Bynum, btw. I think Chuck is a starter at PF...

Sorry kid, I'm not big on masturbation. If I was, I'd sound more like rolsolian.

San Antonio - Tim Duncan (after a major tank season)
Miami - Wade (supported by two other top 5 picks)
OKC - Durant , Westbrook, Green
    LAC - Blake Griffin
    Orlando - Dwight Howard
    Chicago - Derrick Rose
    NOrleans - Chris Paul
    Utah - Deron
    Denver - Carmelo

You need that big alpha dog that makes everything else fall into place. And alpha dogs are top 5 picks, no question about it. Back in the 90's you could luck into having a Dirk or Kobe fall into your lap because the NBA wasn't a high risk league back then, but times have changed.

You think Blake Griffin and Dwight Howard are going to leave for Houston so they can play with KMart? That ain't happening.

If I'm wrong, then being wrong never felt so right.

Kevin is only 28...he is just as much a part of our future as anyone else on this team, especially considering the fact that shooters can stay in this league and perform at a high level much longer than "thugs" who rely mostly on athleticism.

Agree to disagree, the majority have been responding unanimously. I dub you a debbie-downer; I get to be captain obvious. Hm, the ratings on this thread are.. really bad :(

What should you expect, really, at such notice, when Yao would be out this entire season- it was to be a contract year.. Kevin Martin was suppose to be complimentary. We're all not expecting him to be the #1, so relax. You expect that ASAP we trade him out, including Scola- as soon as Yao called off for the season? You may have fallen in love with Rockets of past, but you may be rooting for the wrong team nowadays?

Summary: Valid argument, crappy context. Normally I would say please try again, but I'm not sure you could ever change that certain tone of attitude. Your thread is not a winner.

Kevin isn't going anywhere unless a superstar becomes available and the other team wants Kevin. Still, it wouldn't be the Rockets first choice to let him go.

Is this the BrooksBall effect? I mean, not even a day after he makes this thread, KMart wins the game with a rare and 1 play.

Yeah, the point is to pair a star with Martin, not to lose him for a star.

K-mart made all you 'trade Martin' posters look like fools against the jazz. If used correctly, Martin is an offensive weapon, a beast.

If, big if, Yao didn't go down he would have been the perfect complimentary partner.

Now he is putting the team on his shoulders best he can, even when coach benches him for 95% of the 4th quarter, 2nd quarter and when he gets hot.

K-mart is young enough to be part of our future.

It is now up to Morey to work hard enough to surround him with the right peices; G Wallace & Dalembert would be a nice start. Defence to compliment the offence.

    Imagine:
    AB or Lowry
    K-mart
Wallace ( or in a perfect world J Smith, or .......Melo ? )
    Scola
    Dalembert

Not a bad start, no need to blow up or tank, just tinker.

We all know what Kevin Martin brings. We all know he's an efficient scorer and we need a scorer. Hes not all of a sudden would become a superstar. We barely gave up something for him. Its not like we're trying to build this team around him.

I don't understand why everyone hate on him. Its not like we can just go out there and get a superstar. If they could, they would. Kevin Martin would be great playing next to a superstar.

BTW, low IQ players are like Von Wafer or Stomile Swift. I dont know where you get Kevin Martin with Low IQ from.

Anyway, you made your case even worst when you kept talking about we need professional thugs. That didn't help your case but made you look a lot more ignorant. The last time I check, the Spurs are professional and they are the best team in the league and I don't see any professional thugs on their team.

From what I see, you don't want good professional players on our roster but you rather see bullies who hogs the ball, jacks up shots and try to go for highlight reels instead of trying to win. I bet you much rather have JR Smith than Kevin Martin.

I dont get people like you. You much rather have a guy that cares only about highlight reels than a high efficient scorer in Martin. You should be glad that we have a profesional team that plays with heart. Theres only a few guys in the league that can impose their will on games like Kobe, Melo, Durant, Lebron, Wade, Rose, Paul, etc and there are 30 teams. Not every team will have that kid of player.

Kevin Martin is the best we could get with little to give up for. All we lost was Landry and we all know Kevin Martin brings much more to the table. You cant just think that if we gave up Martin, then all of a sudden we land a star. It doesn't work that way.

martin is a great player to have when you have a superstar. the supersta can get double teamed and then martin may be open for a shot. this would make him flourish. i think he was a good pick up by morey with a HEALTHY yao ming with him.

Outscored opposing team in 3rd quarter by himself = can't impose his will on the game
