A sleeper and a keeper! I agree with you that Kevin Martin doesn't get the media attention he deserves. Monta Ellis has been getting quite a bit of media attention for getting "snubbed" out of an All-Star selection, whereas I don't see anything about Kevin Martin. But KMart has WAY better PER and TS% than Monta. I also didn't see anything about him being snubbed for the three point contest while a lot of other names were mentioned. It's unfortunate for him, but his quietly fantastic season seems to have won over a lot more Rockets fans, at least. And Morey for sure got a great deal on him. The Kings got a great player in Landry, but there's basically no way he's going to stick around with them after this season. They basically traded a borderline All-Star for a "very good 6th man" rental. If we can just retool and balance out this roster, KMart could be a very valuable piece in a championship contending team. At the very least, he's someone we can now sell very high on, unlike the Kings.
+1! We can keep adding on what a great value he is to this franchise. To me personally, I think its great having a legitimate wing scorer on a team. Last year didn't generate the same type of excitement with Brooks playing a combo type role and Riza posing, yes posing lol as shooting gaurd. Maybe Brooks is just too short or has to work too hard for his points. On the other hand, you watch the game, check your email, make a post on CF and next thing you know, Martin already has 20 with 8FT lol I think DM found a good TMAC replacement. Now who will repace Yao?
A contender doesn't happen overnight, unless you're counting on Memphis dealing Marc Gasol for expirings. To blame the roster on DM when he just cleaned up 1/2 of the mess he inherited is idiotic.
Some of you sensitive Susan's need to take off the training bras and let them hang loose. This isn't about "hating", this is about the Rockets having a long term plan. Going somewhere outside of mediocrity. And Daryl agrees with me on this.
But you don't know that it's not a Morey quote. You really don't. So sit there and be rational all you want, but then don't forget to rationally explain to me how LA got Pau Gasol for peanuts. Rationally explain to me how Stephen Jackson blew up for the San Antonio Spurs after drifting around several basketball league's. How Dirk Nowitzki evolved into a great player and Darko was a major bust. Vluarelio-http://eye-on-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/27452557
Multidimensional on Offense and one dimensional on the other side actually one dimensional either side
might have been an ugly release, but it was effective and he did explain why that was his jumper that he developed
Consummate professional. Master of getting to the free throw line. Great flopping to go with acting. One of the pioneer's of TS%. Hope he gets a statue craved
That would be one ugly statue of his shot, and would probably break if too many pigeons land on it at one time.
