Garnett and Allen are at a whopping 86%, Peirce at 50%. Yeah so what? What are you trying to say? They have a totally different team to us. They have 4 legitimate all-stars. Plus when you have a PG like Rondo who gets a dozen assists every game, the assisted ratios is obviously going to go up. When you have a combo of Rondo/Allen/Pierce/Garnett in your lineup it would be considered stupid to take on the defense all by your self. Why would you when there are so many other options? Their big 3 are too good at playing OFF each other as well. Does that make sense at all?

If you were to have this updated now (Last update: 04/16/2010). You would notice LeBron, Wade and Bosh assisted numbers will go up as well. Simply because they can play OFF each other instead of looking to create for themselves like they did in their previus teams. Wouldnt it be much more easier and effiecient for such a BIG 3 to rely on eachother instead of doing everything themselves in their former teams? Wait - isnt that why the 3 of them got together in the 1st palce?

Or do you expect 3 All-stars on the same team to hogg the ball all by themselves at the most crucial times? Pierce/Garneet/Paul are stupid examples to mention, I dont even know what that has to do my reply.

They simply dont need to try ceate their own shots as much as teams that have no stars. Does that really come at a surprise for you?

We dont have the luxury that Boston and Heat do. Does that make sense to you? Our team make up is completely different to theirs. We need someone to step up in the clutch. Martin is the best equipped to do do. Martin needs to create his own shots more than just relyin on catch and shoot.

    Holla back.

ROFL, I love how most of your "pieces to championships" don't have rings and in fact some of them actually cost their teams rings by not showing up in the playoffs. Do you seriously think putting Kbrick in the same class as Rashard Lewis is a good argument of his value? The subtext of my remark, which you were obviously too stupid to pick up on, is that it's bad team management to pick up players who make almost as much as max players but are nowhere near as good when you don't already have someone worth building around. Players like CP3, Lebron, etc don't make much more than Martin. He's a big fat (well actually skinny little) waste of space on this team because he hamstrings our flexibility almost as much as a max player would, yet is only good enough to be the third or fourth best player on a championship team. He's just not very good, and definitely doesn't warrant the salary. If you took some of his offensive talent away and added it to defense so that he was equal on both ends of the court, he'd be a 12ppg scrub.

I see. So the difference between true superstars like Kobe and Martin is that Martin likes to shoot layups at the end of a 4-5 point loss in order to pad his stats. But Kobe would just pull up and run out the clock because he knows his is going to lose, and want to level off his clutchness as described by 82games.com clutch stats.

Also, Kobe Bryant is a 5x NBA Champion and 2x Finals MVP.

Even if thats true, I don't see how that really makes a difference. Every player in the league does that and I don't see half of them on the clutch scoring leaderboards

More evidence of what I've always said, too:

Kobe Bryant is criminally overrated in the clutch. 38.5% fg% is like the worst in the top 20 scoring in the clutch.

Does it matter if the ball goes into the basket? That's like saying Ray Ray isn't clutch because he doesn't run isos

Whoda thunk an off-the-ball scorer would have such a high assisted % compared to an on-the-scorer, absolutely shocking!

Assisted numbers for Kevin Martin are misleading because KM likes to drive inside and get to the line.Getting to the line means it doesn't count as a shot, which means it isn't counted. Most of KM's possessions go like these:

    1) Catch and shoot
    2) Get to the line
    3) Score in isolation
    4) Pass it back out

Out of the 4 options only 1 results in an unassisted shot. KM shoots an ungodly amount of freethrows each game, this lowers the % of unassisted shots he takes because most of his drives result in freethrows. Its also the same reason why his assists are low, he makes something out of nothing so much there's no reason to pass it back out.

LOL no, it just shows why people need to look at stats instead of just watching the game. If Kobe didn't shoot 1-13 the first three quarters then he wouldn't have to go 4-6 in the fourth. KM's playing and missing 4 shots in a row, then bench his ass he's done more than enough. KM's making only 1/2 what Kobe does, if he can duplicate what Kobe gives you all day long, then you count on the other guy you bought with the savings you have from paying KM instead of Kobe.

Kobe is a leader though. We need a leader on our team desperately. I would swap Martin for Kobe in a heartbeat, savings be damned.

    You're stupidity really is amazing...

Championship teams don't consist simply of Max players with minimum scrubs surrounding them. You seem to admit he's good enough to be the third or fourth best player on a championship team yet claim "he's not very good" and "definitely doesn't warrant the salary." Why don't you look up recent championship teams and see if you can find one with their third best player being paid around the MLE.

Oh and honor your bet and follow your hero. GTFO

I dont understand how catch and shoot is unassisted? Brooks passes the ball to KM who is parked at the 3 point line then bang he hits a 3. Assist to Brooks.

Anyway. My point was he needs to do more number 2 and 3. Would that not help us? He can do his catch and shoot stuff as per norm, thats all good. But that alone has not been winning us those close games in clutch has it? All I am saying is during those situations he should try to score by other methods/means. Take the D on himslef abit, be aggressive and not passive. Is that such a bad idea? Would that not help?

What does some message board comment have to do with getting a superstar?

Iggy would be a huge upgrade over Battier. Iggy can be our new Kobe, Wade, LeBron stopper. Plus hey you know what - he can score the ball a bit, grab some rebounds and create for others too.

Waiting for the right contract to come along will take forever. Saying T-Will can develop into Iggy will take too long as well. We need to take these kind of contracts if we want to win now.

Look at LA, Dallas, Orlando's roster - they are well beyond $80 Mill. Miami would be there too if their Big 3 did not sacrifice so much. Do you notice that those 4 teams have a chance at winning their conferance? The spurs are are the only team under $70 Mill that have a chance to compete. But not everyone can be like the Spurs.

I dont get people in here.

what is the difference scoring 40 pts in the 1st 3 quarters and 5 in the 4th quarter, and scoring 15 in the 4th quarter, and 30 in the 1st 3 quarters?

so nash isnt clutch because he gets a lot of his points from FTs at the end of the game, just like when martin gets the FTs to end a game.

if you have a great ft shooter why not use him to get fts to close a game.

and kobe gets 40 points because he shots 30 times.
