Yeah, I read it wrong. I guess I am used to the sarcastic type of post and that's how i was reading it.
Kevin Love is on par or BETTER than Dwight Howard in rebounding. Love is no fluke in getting boards. Definitely in Howard's favor is on the defensive end he is trying to CHALLENGE SHOTS instead of laying back anticipating getting a rebound off a miss. If Howard attempts to swat 10 shots and Kevin Love 1, Howard is putting himself out of rebounding position to get blocks. THAT'S why you want a power forward who can cleans the boards, so the center can concentrate on protecting the rim. Or vice/versa...Kevin Love is grabbing missed shots that everyone else is forcing. Still, for THIS SEASON up to this point and his entire career, he's one of the top 3 rebounders since Rodman. Lets see how long he can sustain it. Heck, Love can get in BETTER physical condition than he his now.
This. KL's an amazing rebounder, unfotunately he's also a bit of a stat padder as he doesn't defend or score efficiently. Of course a rebound is a rebound is a rebound, honestly if a guy can get me 20 rebs a night I don't give a **** how bad his defense is
t-wolve fans have some hope for the future. but has anyone else heard that kevin love is a d!ck in person ?
Kevin Love 7 for 7, 3 for 3 from 3 and 7 rebounds in just the second quarter. I have to admit, I wasn't hyped on this guy, but he can play. Though him shooting 3s will limit his ability to grab more offensive rebounds. Michael Beasley is also a lot more talented than I thought, that guy can flat out score.
Larry Bird's defense is underrated. He wasn't a great one-on-one defender, but was a hell of a team defensive player. You don't make all defensive teams by being horrible on defense. Yes, the Niques and the Jordans tore him up, but who the hell didn't they tear up?
And that's the way I feel about Love's defense. Love is a very high iq bball player. He may be a terrible one-on-one defender, but the game is played 5 on 5.
Love is absolutely a great rebounder. He gets in position to grab boards and for boards that the other big should grab, he somehow seems to pull it down even when they have their hands on the ball.
That's not entirely accurate, and he gets better as time goes on...even with marginally increased minutes. NBA.com Stats - Kevin Love With that said, I agree that he's reminscent of throw back players from the 70s and early 80s, somewhere between Bill Walton and Tom Gugliotta but with better rebounding. Yes, that good, and the white boy references are just what came to mind. K-Love's future is bright.
I have a friend who knew him. Said he was a great guy until he started getting famous, and it's gone completely to his head.
Hmm! Another Kevin in Minny is putting up big numbers but still loosing. Wonder what the outcome of this situation is going to be?
12 points and 7 rebounds with a couple minutes left in the first against the Thunder. This guy is absolutely ridiculous.
When I think of Kevin Love, I'm reminded of scene in White Man Can't Jump. Except Kevin Love is the one doing the pissing. He's basically making every team his b****.
