Agreed on the players' merits, but if you factor in the teams' performance, then no.

Maybe so but you simply cannot ignore the hit his public image took from the disastrous split from Orlando coupled with the debacle in LA last year as a major factor in the drop off in his popularity and votes. But he was mainly hurt by the change from two forwards and a center to three forwards which put him in direct competition with the likes Love, Durant and Griffin. His vote totals dropped from over 3M in 2009 to 653,000 this year. To imply that other city's fans were "butt hurt" is simply engaging in sour grapes but I can expect the whining from those in Houston to be pretty severe. In fact, I am currently listening to the dweebs on AM 790 moan and groan about what happened to Dwight (and the oh so terrible unfairness of it all) right now.

Onestly LMA was snubbed even more than dwight. I think starting 5 should be chris paulN james harden, kevin durant, LMA, dwight howard

Love is better than Howard. Aldridge should have been in over Griffin. These complaints are misplaced.

The stupid front court and back court categories caused this.

I never vote for ASG, but if I were to, would probably have voted for LMA and DH.

Love has better stats than Howard, but no GM would rather have Love than Howard.

Who cares? The All star game is based on fan voting, not on who deserves what. People need to get that in their head.

Personally, for entertainment purposes, I think it would be better to have Dwight and Blake in the starting lineup. Blocks and dunks are more exciting than rebounds.

At the gas station adding fuel to the fire.

Could turn out being a good thing for the Rockets. Howard may stel his game up and score 28 a night like Shaq says he should be doing.

    LMA got robbed.

LMA is the biggest snub to be honest. As far as Love and Howard, Love has more talent and ability but Howard has a higher impact on winning than Love. I've been critical of Howard because at times he doesn't bring it and at times plays like a pansy. Also his clown act to me is annoying and getting old and I feel that goes for other fans around the county. I really like this snub toward Howard and Harden. I hope us as Rocket fans can look back on this and say this was the turning point in helping to light a consistent fire under Howard and Harden because at times this season, they have failed the team. The team is too dependent on role players to be the leaders/enforcers (Parsons, Bev, etc.). Howard and Harden need to be better in the leadership department and more people would take them more seriously I believe.

I hope neither howard or harden make it to the all star game...reason being..they could use the rest...and they would be very upset and have a lot of motivation going into the second half of the season.

So there's a 13 page thread on a pretty inconsequential fan voting snub in the same year that Kobe Bryant played 6 games and got a starting spot from the fan voting?

Even before this Kobe thing you all knew this voting means absolutely nothing, so why worry about it? Howard lost most of his fans in Orlando and LA by the way he acted and the way he left. Love still has Minnesota fans, delusional Laker fans who already penciled him onto their roster for 2016, UCLA fans, etc, none of which he has alienated.

    It's a demographic thing, that's it.

Should have been Aldridge/Love/Durant in the front court, IMO.

Sure the T-Wolves have a worse record, but they don't have James Harden either. Even without Harden, I'm not sure I don't prefer our supporting cast.

And FWIW, the T-Wolves have a +5 average point differential. That is better than us, 5th in the West, and 7th in the NBA. It isn't like they have been a bad team.

The real shame is Kobe getting voted in over Chris Paul or Damian Lillard.

this is hilarious the only reason why the Center position was removed was because of Yao - getting voted in year in and out despite barely playing and the voting system was looking ridiculous because of that.

no one really cared then - so who cares now

honestly they should do it the way the pro bowl does it - have the fans vote but it counts as 1/3 of the total the way coaches and media are the other thirds

NBA removed the center position from the ballot hence no centers start for either team. Discrace

And if you think about it, Asik's votes would have made DH the clear starter.

    3. Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves: 661,246 (third appearance)
