imo, no power forward who has to keep posting up from 12ft away is ever gonna get a ring....unless maybe he goes the malone route later in his career and decides to leech off Yao for a ring ;)

Well couldn't he just sleep with Laettner's GF or show him his bank statement or something.

    Laettner is gay.

Forgot about that. Was it Jim Petersen? Naw, gotta be a guard. I don't feel like digging out that Jayson Williams book.

That was a punchline for a couple of months a roommate and I had, it replaced "we've got to fockass..."

The last play on KG is an "AND 1 move".

More from the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

    • Former University of Minnesota player Rick Rickert has shown the Timberwolves during summer workouts that he has NBA potential, and notwithstanding the sucker punch he received the other day from the Wolves' Kevin Garnett during a pickup game, still has a chance to make the team's roster. That will depend on whether the Wolves figure they can afford to keep a player who is still developing or whether they feel they need immediate help.

The day after the 6-foot-10 former Duluth East star received seven stitches and a chipped tooth from Garnett, Rickert was back seeking another workout with the same players. And he would have continued playing immediately after being punched except that he couldn't because of the bleeding the blow caused. Rickert has gained extra respect from the Wolves for not pressing the issue.

Meanwhile, word is Garnett realizes he made a big mistake by losing his temper and doesn't consider it an issue.

The guy Dream popped and made the remark about getting his change was a white player who was also a Houston Cougar I believe. I can't remember the name right now... GRRRR

I think dream's blow was more of a slap and definitely didn't require anyone to have a gash, or chipped tooth.

What Garnett needs to do now since the story has broken nationwide in a number of newspapers is come forward with what happened, appologize, and move on from it. Always better to confront these things and then move on rather than sweeping them under the carpet.

You might not wanna take the time to register, so here's what it says:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Rickert, 21, scored several times with the 6-foot-11 Garnett guarding him. Several other players began to "tease" Garnett about being outplayed, according to a source. When Rickert scored again, Garnett struck him without warning. "Rick was surprised that Garnett reacted the way he did," said Rickert's agent, Mark Termini."
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh no! Garnett was getting teased!

I remember when the Chicago Tribune reported that Kobe was insulting Shaq after Yao scored so much on him the 1st 3 meetings or so. I have no doubts that Shaq took that to heart in his 4th meeting with the Rockets and into the playoffs because a dedicated Shaq is one tough SOB on offense and on defense. A black player getting schooled by a non-black player sounds like a tease waiting to happen.

Rick Rickert is the posterboy for not leaving school too early. He wasnt even projected very high, and he still left Minnesota. Should have stayed.

That's bull. There cannot be a reason other than self-defense or a comparable circumstance for hitting somebody so hard during a basketball game that he has a chipped tooth and needs seven stitches.

That is pretty stupid as well. Garnett realizes his mistake, but yet he is not willing to apologize for being such a jackass.
