Plus, OKC forever has bad karma coming to them for stealing the SuperSonics from Seattle... **** Clay Bennett and all his goons.
^^^ BTW, I can't stress that last point enough. **** OKC and their ownership group. They really deserve every bad thing that could possibly happen to them for stealing such a great franchise from Seattle.
As lucky as drafting 3 top ten talents and would've been able to keep four dominant starters with the cap exploding a few years later. Plus they get that wasted playoffs back without having to matchup with Beverley...
I hope he goes to Warriors. Gonna be amazing watching them. Salary caps are stupid and hurt the product of basketball. I want to watch super teams.
What in particular makes you say that? At least on the court, Westbrook looked like he was the most focused (to his detriment, even) during their series. And that counts the most IMHO.
Not talking about on the court of course. I'd say most, if not all, NBA 'stars' are basketball robots ON the court. The difference is how they approach the off the court. Steph, Klay, and Draymond are all known to work hard while off the court, bc all they care about is basketball (aside from family). Westbrook busts his ass on the court, but people get the sense that he cares about his image/fashion a lot as well, hence why everyone thinks he's going to LA (or another big market) next year. You can't deny that there are 3 stars that care less about 'other' stuff than Steph, Klay, and Draymond.
I have no idea how much time they each devote to training compared to many others. I mean you get a sense that most of the top tier put in a ton of work, but I don't see why those three put in more or less than their contemporaries. Maybe they all have a goody goody image which lends to that, but it's not necessarily an either/or proposition to put time into their game plus other things. Curry golfs a lot in his spare time. Just because someone like LeBron has busines pursuits in his spare time doesn't make him more or less dedicated. If Westbrook chooses LA for fame over a good team situation you might have a point but that's totally unfounded for now.
I feel like KD to GSW is not necessarily a bad thing for the rockets. golden state is already basically impossible for us to beat with or without KD. just know OKC is a little easier.
If Durant is gone OKC is dead. I'm not even sure they can make the playoffs without him...they're probably going to trade Westbrook as soon as possible, watch the Lakers trade a couple of their youngsters for him (Russell and Randle or Ingram).... Spoiler and watch Harden leave us with nothing left next year
If he signs with the Warriors they will have a hall of famer in their prime at four of five positions with multiple former all star caliber players as backups. Truly the greatest collection of talent ever. Them losing would be a fluke occurrence barring injury. It sucks for the rockets because they can't possibly compete, but then we really can't get to contending status in the next two years anyway so I guess we shouldn't care.
This is going to be good entertainment if he makes his decision to sign with the Warriors on July 4th. Cant wait to see Okc fans reactions
