Devin Booker and KD on the same team... yikes. Remains to be seen if it's a paper champion or not, but still ...
Bridges might be their best player. Suns shoulda gave up Ayton instead of him. I don't think this makes them better at all.
It's a similar Situation to what the rockets were in with the Harden trade. You're trading a top 5 player to a team for future picks. Your only hope is that it blows up the same way the Nets blew up. The problem for them is that we got incredibly lucky to have the Nets fall apart as fast as they did. The pandemic, Harden wanting to reunite with Morey, Kyrie and Ben Simmons were all huge factors.
I always felt that an injury-prone, aging-KD was the best bet of those later picks being top 5-10. Brooklyn has flexibility, draft capital, and a deep roster: Cam Thomas Cam Johnson Mikal Bridges Finney Smith Nick Claxton Ben Simmons Spencer Dinwiddie Seth Curry Royce O’Neal No victory laps yet.
I think betting on an aging KD continuing to stay hurt and Kyrie continuing to Kyrie was a pretty gamble.
I thought so too which is why I said that I liked the trade when half of clutchfans was melting down. But it was still a gamble
