LeBron is a freak physically though. He's never had the injury problems Durant has with the broken foot. And despite all that, you can start to see some decline in his game at his age. Yes, he's still the best player on the planet, but he won't be able to carry the Cavs to another title the way he did this past season.
Many fans do not really think from the perspective of a player whose shelflife is only 15 years to 20 years maximum. They really got to make the most of those years. Fans will be fans for 50, 60 or more years. Players do not have that luxury.
So long as Durant doesn't care about his legacy or anyone respecting him, this was a smart move if he just wants a shot at jewelry.
As I said we will see. For all I know a new GSW can rise from the ashes in 1 or 2 years. We do not know. Again, we do not know. Just hindsight and my 2 cents.

FWIW I do not like his decision either, would have preferred him going to the East but I can understand him and his decision. Not happy about it but I take it.
Lebron was also (and still is) a much more polarizing figure than Durant. People care about and also hate Lebron soooo much more than they do Durant. While the espn special was definitely cringe worthy, one thing people always seem to forget or not mention, was that it was done for charity. Raising a bunch of money for the boys and girls club. But yeah, it definitely didn't help. As to people losing respect for KD, from fans on reddit/realgm/clutchfans etc to media personality like Steven A. or even NBA players, I can see why some would feel that way. However I also don't believe KD should allow such opinions to stop him from choosing what he felt was best for himself and his family.
There's SOME truth to this. But Lebron had to come home to really rehabilitate his reputation. Winning the title in Cleveland certainly made a lot forgiveable too.
I still think Lebron would make it hard for Durant to win it all. But Durant with Curry, Thompson, Green and Iggy. That is another story.

Would any team in the history of the NBA be able to beat this team. They will just bury you with 3s. Even if you had shaq or Hakeem you couldn't beat them because a 3 at 42% is much better than what Shaq could do hitting 5 foot shots. Instead of Barnes bricking those 3s KD probably hits a few more. This is not good for the NBA.
Did you misread my post? I said... I didn't have a problem with KD's decision. Only downside for me personally was that IMO the 2017 NBA championship fight will be much less dramatic. As a fan of the Warriors, I would enjoy watching their greatness, even if it wasn't to the fullest extent. what part of my post made reference to time or end of the world?
