This is not 2k. Youre expecting the nets to just be npcs and still bottom out without owning their own draft picks. Theres also no guarantee they will be bad even when durant declines. A lot can happen in 3 years in the nba If you think they are just going to gift you a great pick more power to you but its not reasonable
Nash was brought in as a "players coach". He is objectively bad at actual coaching. His rotations are bad, his plays are bad. His only purpose was to control egos and what has happened under his watch? Harden asked for a trade and got traded Durant asked for a trade and wanted him fired Kyrie asked for a trade and sat out half the season Tell me why he doesnt deserve to be canned The 2 people who asked for him to be hired want him out. The only reason he hasnt been fired is because it would hurt joe tsais pathetic ego
This made me chuckle. Have Durant ever been seen fat? We've seen Harden be fat practically every off-season. Not expecting your prediction to come to fruition, but hoping against hope that it will if for no other reason, than to see skinny fat KD
2K? I have been watching basketball for over 40 years. I watched Moses Malone and Calvin Murphy in the 1981 Finals against the Celtics. I also saw them after the Moses Malone trade in 1982 with a broke down Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy WORSE than this team for the last two years. Sure teams tank or follow the youth movement but teams with inferior talent play hard and lose every night. Teams have stars for a reason because they mean playoffs. If you think losing Kyrie and Durant equals wins with a scrubbish Simmons that can't shoot I don't know what to tell you. You keep ignoring the history that played out before. No star is going to go there this time. Who is replacing those guys? Broke down Patty Mills, Blake Griffin, ... They have around $100M in cap not related to KD or Kyrie. 10 of the players on that roster are over 30. They will rebuild because they have NO CHOICE. They will bottom out, not by choice, because the talent is gone as well as the means to replace it. Winning or losing won't matter to them because it has no meaning if you cannot take action. 2023 - Nets 1st round exit, Kyrie leaves, Durant misses half season traded for less assets than this summer, get low pick 2024 - Nets 7-10 lottery goes to Rockets 2025 - Nets 5-10 lottery pick swap goes to Rockets for pick in 20s 2026 - Nets top 5 lottery goes to Rockets 2027 - Nets top 5 lottery pick swap goes to Rockets for pick in 20s That scenario is very real and if even HALF of it is real it is beyond devastating. So yes, Tari might be the worst asset we get in this other than missing out on the 2021 and 2023 swaps. If you go back 3 years ago and you have that team and KD and Kyrie tell you they want to join, you welcome them in a microsecond. If they tell you they want to add Harden, you do it. Rockets Legend, Kyrie Irving, had other plans. Harden played with KD and Kyrie 16 TIMES over two seasons. They were the same chaotic mess after he left and are the same now and you think that magically disappears. That team is poisoned and will be until they are both gone. What is left is the wreckage in their wake that looks just like the Rockets the last two years without the young talent. Boogie, PJ, EGo, Dipo, Wood rolling with Tank Commander.
it doesnt matter how much you watched 40 or 100 years ago because we are talking about 2023 and I can tell you havent watched a single game of the nets last season. You bring up Blake Griffin as if Blake didnt play only 5 minutes the entire playoffs. In reality, Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy cant carry the nets jockstrap as far as talent is concerned Everything you say comes off childish like a homer fairy tail. Everything is best case scenarios and ESPN rhetoric. Last season WAS the best outcome you could ever have hoped for and we got back a 17th pick to show for it. You really think the nets are going to finish in the 1st round again after adding Ben Simmons and Joe Harris and a full year of Kyrie Irving. OK! Whats equally or probably more likely to happen is they make a deep playoff run/possibly win a championship Resign Kyrie long term KD and Kyrie plan to playout the rest of their careers with the nets 26 year old Ben Simmons continues to play at an all star level The nets actually make moves to remain competitive instead of like in your dream scenario where they give up and sit on their nuts so they can hand the rockets multiple top 5 picks while having 0 fans in attendance Now understand all of this is opposed to all the other trade offers that were on the table
Bob Raissman: Even with latest truce, Kevin Durant and the Nets remain NBA’s No. 1 reality show This recent, so-called truce agreed to by Durant, after “peace” talks in Los Angeles with Nets brass and a statement by Sean Marks (the GM he tried to oust), isn’t worth the paper it was written on. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...0220827-7zqd6nj4lbeb5fs5skf3d3d7pa-story.html
How many games will they all play together is better question. And Simmons-Claxton will not play a lot minutes together, both are space killers.
