Keon is more talented and physically excellent than he is a great teammate or basketball player.

Jerry Sloan is likely to put it together and KC will earn a great contract after the season.

Why didn't Sac do this deal with Riley?

My only point was that there had to be other teams offering at least a future first rounder for Keon and 2 second rounders(The Lakers probably woulda given up that much, so would a couple other western conference teams), but I guess the Kings wouldn't trade with someone they planned on competing against, which was smart. If you put Keon Clark back in the East, I think he would put up some pretty good stats at Forward or Center. He didn't get enough time in Toronto, IMO.

I think the Kings might have preferred a #2 pick over a #1, because of the non-guaranteed status.

No one would have offered more than a 20 or so overall pick for him. More than likely, Utah's #2 will be pretty early.

Most teams do not have much use for Keon Clark. If he was on the open market this year, he would have had to take a 2 mill/year deal. That is why he opted to stay in Sac (albeit temporarily), rather than test the FA market in search of a starting job.

Clark needs to gain some toughness before he can be worth a damn.

But who is their back-ups, especially with Webber out? I think they're better off signing a good cheap role-player/big man like Art Long, who they liked a year ago. They could easily use him, he could be a solid fill-in yet would keep them under the luxury tax.

They have Miller and Funderburke off the bench to play down low right now. Miller should be considered a terrific bench player...Funderburke on the other hand is very mediocre, but at least he plays hard every minute he's out there. If Webber gets injured, they might be in quite a bit of trouble, especially since then Divac will have to play around 40 minutes a game compared to his usual 30 at age 35. A Divac/Miller combo down low in that scenario would be ok for short stretches, but over long periods of time, the lack of footspeed at those two positions may begin to hurt.

Only a dumb GM will turn down a future 1st round pick offer. Because you can always use that pick as a trade bait in the future. NOBODY TURNS DOWN A FIRST ROUND PICK period. Wbber is injury prone; Divac is "winding" down; Christie is getting up there too. They will need to retool again from the draft. Methink they could have or should have gotten something better for what they were offering or rather giving away. This deal does not make any sense to me.

My guess is no one offered a first rounder but they definitely could have done much better. Just my opinion.
