He seemed to play pretty well against LA, and in general when I saw him.

Yup. But this is one of those situations where the numbers are a little deceiving. Last year, the Nugs had the most free throw attempts per field goal attempts by quite a bit. In other words, we were REALLY good at getting to the line.

And because any time I say anything on this board I have to defend myself, I am not saying that the Nuggets should have won, or we got jobbed. Just adding a little perspective.

    EDIT (comes out of lurking):

You didn't watch him much. He was a black hole. He was a chucker who was only effective when he drove to the hoop which he did maybe 10% of the time and never played defense.

If Melo is the first option and star for a team, that team will never win championship. IMO he is the most selfish player and does not make any players around him better. Dont dislike his talent, but he does not have leadership qualities and Nuggets depended too much on him. The only player on that team that showed some leadership quality was Billups.

The team had talent but i dont think coaching was good enough either to win championship. They did not use enough talent of Nene, Martin n Smith on offense.

I disagree. Although I dislike the Lakers, I think they clearly had the best team last season. Melo is not near Kobe's level yet, and although Billups is extremely skilled, their big men could not match up with that of the Lakers.
