I worked with a girl whose last name was Mudda.... her mudda really was a Mudda. Her fadda was a Mudda, too.
Calvin is riding the Philly Rachel Alexandra -- he thinks she is the fastest horse he has ever ridden. link Preakness post is at 5:00.
exactly.....a much better horse than i gave credit for. impressive race. just wish they had raced RA in the Derby, because I think we'd be looking at a legit TC winner right now.
I agree as well, but that was a pretty good race. How much do the jockeys get? I assume a % of winnings? That freak is on a retty good run
depends on whether RA runs the Belmont. if she runs the Belmont, i assume she'll be the favorite. her beyer score in the kentucky oaks was higher than mine that bird's in the kentucky derby -- first time in derby history that's happened. but for RA, Mine that Bird wins that race yesterday by a comfortable margin. this is actually pretty good for racing...a bit of an intriguing storyline with those horses racing against each other in the belmont...with calvin in the middle.
I don't have a great foundation to go on - but Mind That Bird seems to have one the best final kicks i've ever seen. When the jockey tells him take off he shoots off like a rocket.
you're absolutely right....i love horses like that...that wait back and then just tear it up around the home stretch. i was rooting for him to win....mostly because he had just won the derby and not one analyst i read or heard all week long picked him to win this race.
Luckily if Mind that Bird and Rachel Alexandra both race at Belmont we'll have an awesome race and story line.
i agree...i know it's early, but the weather forecast tends to favor Mine that Bird <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7QLSRMoKKS0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7QLSRMoKKS0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
