That's why I thought in the 2016 championship odds thread that their odds were too low. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs in the near future

Minnesota Timberwolves have informed Karl-Anthony Towns that they will select him with the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, a source close to Towns told SNY.tv.

“It’s done, he’s going to Minnesota,” the source said. “[Minnesota President and coach] Flip Saunders was big on Jahlil Okafor for a minute there and after Karl came in [on Saturday], he decided to work out for them. He only worked out for them and it’s a wrap. It’s a wrap. They just told him they’re going to take him No. 1.”

Towns would join a young Minnesota roster that features the last two No. 1 overall picks in Canadians Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins.

The 7-foot Towns, a native of Piscataway, N.J. who starred last year at Kentucky, arrived in the Twin Cities on Friday night and took a tour of the Wolves’ new $25 million practice facility and dined with owner Glen Taylor, Saunders and several other team officials, according to The Associated Press.

Cauley-Stein's Foot Giving Lottery Teams Pause
    by: Jonathan Givony - President

Uncertainty surrounding Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein's foot could impact his standing in Thursday night's NBA Draft, league executives tell DraftExpress.

Cauley-Stein suffered a stress fracture in his ankle on March 28th of 2014 in Kentucky's NCAA Tournament victory over Louisville, and had a pin inserted via surgery to repair what Cauley-Stein described then as a “cracked bone or a stress fracture." The injury may have occurred in Kentucky's opening game against Kansas State, until he finally heard a “pop” in his words against Louisville two games later.

Cauley-Stein ultimately elected to return for his junior season, a decision deemed as surprising at the time, but which was clearly influenced by the injury. “I was thinking about going (pro) the whole time, until I got injured,” Cauley-Stein later said.

Five separate NBA teams we spoke with all indicated varying degrees of concern after consulting with their team doctors this week, with some saying it may cost the Kentucky big man a few spots on draft night. “There is some maintenance that needs to be done there, as it's not completely clear whether the injury healed in a proper way. The pin that was inserted is supposed to be sitting at a 90 degree angle, but instead it's at 45 degrees. That, plus some question marks about his background that came up could cause him to drop a few slots.”

WCS also suffers from Sickle-Cell Anemia. He is probably getting red flagged by a few teams.
