Someone's criminal history doesn't mean they are less entitled to due process, but it does explain the police posture toward him when he was resisting arrest

This does not exonerate anyone of wrongdoing. I'm sure everyone there said/thought they were there for some righteous reason.

Right or wrong, guilty or innocent, a 17 year-old wading into a riot with automatic weapons to "protect property" in a community he doesn't even live in is extremely stupid.

We need to know what precipitated the original confrontation and slaying before we can know this.

He tripped and fell from what I can see.

The man who is photographed with a pistol, bleeding from a major wound on his arm, appears to have approached him and grabbed the barrel of the gun, which is why his injury is where it is. It's hard to know how/where the gun came from given that he is seen trying to disarm and subdue Rittenhouse. For all we know, that gun is actually Rittenhouse's and the guy grabbed it off him when he got his hands on him on the ground. At any rate, if this guy had a pistol the whole time and didn't use it on Rittenhouse that would suggest a significant amount of restraint on his part given what had just transpired.

I wonder if the murderer kid is still glad he brought his penis-gun with him.

How do they know this guy did not just murder somebody, maybe that's why they were chasing him.

This is a random guy who just shot somebody in the head yet these people were just supposed to let him be on his merry way?

That's why somebody tried to crush his skull.

Records reveal Blake was arrested in 2013 in Round Lake Beach and criminal trespass to a vehicle and arrested in 2012 in Zion, Ill. for domestic battery, endangering the life and health of a child and driving under the influence.

Blake is currently facing a rape charge in Kenosha.

A warrant was issued for Blake’s arrest on July 7 on felony 3rd degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, all related to domestic abuse.

Blake has reportedly been paralyzed from the waist down after being shot eight times on Sunday by police who were answering a domestic abuse call.

The rape charge started circulating on Twitter this afternoon and was confirmed by a search of court records.

Bad dude? yeah maybe, but there is no gun violence there, mostly domestic confrontations and an untried charge we know no facts of yet.

It's very telling that police let Rittenhouse go after he admitted shooting someone yet Blake was shot in the back because maybe he had a weapon.

Directly following the second shooting, a group of police vehicles advances on the crowd. Rittenhouse walks toward them and can be seen alternately putting his hands up and touching his gun. As he approaches, the vehicles drive away and Rittenhouse gives them a slight wave.

I think he waved a gun at some people in a club.

Still doesn't mean he deserved to be shot in the back instead of having his legs taken out. Never should have made it around the hood.

Kudos to the Bucks for their boycott. I doubt any games get played today.

As much as I want to watch basketball, and that's a lot, these killings by this kid last night is the icing on the cake.

Maybe we can get some superstars to give some speeches instead of playing the games. We need some leaders to step up.

As the most progressive league in sports, the NBA could potentially be the one that could throw together speeches by their stars and others that people would listen to. Maybe they could use their ABC affiliations to get those prime time slots.

As should be obvious I don't agree with rioting and I am very against violence in these protest. I will say it again I am not going to excuse or rationalize things that hurt people who had nothing to do with the situation, that hurt the livelihoods and businesses that neighborhoods depend on.

All of that said civilians stepping into law enforcement roles is one that needs to be handled with extreme caution. I only did it because it was my neighborhood and really more to be able to spot and put out fires because the MFD had said they couldn't get to all fires in time. One of the things that I did was avoid LE while out patrolling. For one I didn't want to be mistaken as a looter and LE during those days were in a shoot first mood given how they shot a woman with a marker round on her own patio.

One thing I wasn't going to do was go to a neighborhood or city where I'm not from and have no connections. I know in my neighborhood we didn't want outsiders coming in and deputizing themselves.
