Hey I'll be the first to admit the Kenny Thomas is a good player, and I liked him when he was on the Rockets. That doesn't change the fact that he was quite the black hole. When he played for us, he rarely passed the ball. I guess you could say it was Rudy T's system since apparently he's playing "unselfishly" for the Kings now. Regardless of how he played for us, I don't think he was happy here. I remember reading an article in the Chronicle a few years back about how he distanced himself from his teammates.
What + ever = WHATEVER Kenny Thomas played with Allen Iverson, now with Cuttino and Peja. The BIGGEST BALL HOGS in The NBA!!!! And he still get his numbers and so does his teammates. KT!! KT!!!
Exactly. People can look at numbers he may or may not be putting up on far inferior teams, but KT would not fit in with this group the way Juwan did when he was healthy. This offense relies heavily on the role players understanding and fulfilling their role (it could be argued that most offenses rely on this). KT never really understood his role when he was with Houston. He'd get the ball at the top of the key, juke, juke again, and then either take a long jumper or drive to the basket with limited success. He was an above average defender, true, but not so much that he made up for his offensive drawbacks. I do not miss KT at all.
Lunacy on your part. Juwan is a smarter o player with a more consistant jumper, but that's all he's got on KT, even in his good years. Ho's a puss who wont give up his body for boards or d. His "whiff" of all star appearances rely on hype and being fed the ball on bad teams. That being said, I'm not looking to get KT back, mostly because of his fat contract, but also because I like the clean slate of the rox o. Juwan is definitely the better fit on offense, but in all other aspects of the game, he leaves a LOT to be desired.
Oh, I don't think he was unhappy here. Him being so upset when he was traded showed how much he didn't want to leave. But with all the forwards in the wings, and the way the guards ran the team, I wouldn't have blamed him.
Great point CK... Can`t argue with either of your posts. I have to admit, I am happy that Juwon played as well as he did before his injury but there is still a lot that we need from a 4 than just a consistent jumper.
QUESTION" Look at KT's numbers when Iverson went down last year. He was the heart of a scrappy team. Rocket River
Trading KT cost the Rockets a playoff spot in Yao's rookie year, bottom line. Griffin got abused on a nightly basis and Mo Taylor was trying to come back from injury. Losing KT hurt bad that year.
Kenny Thomas and Cuttino are good players but they look better than they really are in the Kings offense, especially in the passing game. The only player that the Kings offense has ever held back is Mike Bibby. Next season they're going to look really good, Cuttino and Kenny should average a 8 combined assists with some offseason training with the King's coaches. Is Cuttino a free agent?
I don't know that I'd agree. Posey stepped in and virtually replaced his numbers while balancing the team a little more (filling the SF void). That team was hampered a lot more by the Steve and Cat show, and the loss of Rudy at the end. Evan
KT not being on our team is part of the loss we suffer for the EG blunder. The only reason we traded KT away was because we wanted to keep EG and "develop" his potential. That turned out to be one of the worst mistakes in Rockets history. A lot of people point only to the 3 first rounders we loss for EG. But they forget the KT trade and the possibility of getting Rashard Lewis, all because of the perceived potential of EG.
