Well I don't think Posey has anything close to Mason's potential on offense, but it really doesn't matter. I understand that he plays very well off the ball and he rebounds very well for a 2/3 so he'll get his share of garbage baskets. Also he's a hell of an athlete and he'll be great running with Steve and the boys, but frankly, as far as I'm concerned, if Posey's D is as good as advertised, anything scoring he does is icing.

I'd like to see Franchise and Yao get 35 shots a night together, give or take of course depending upon various factors. Considering Mobley's appetite for shooting, we're not going to need even 10 pts a game from Posey for him to be worth the trade.

Good God. I came home and turned the game on midway through the 1st quarter to hear Calvin Murphy say, "maybe Mo Taylor can get into a rhythm as the backup power forward now with Kenny Thomas headed to Philadelphia." I hurry online thinking to myself, "hmm...I wonder what we got, probably a 1st round pick at best case scenario."

I can't explain how excited I am that we got this guy. I remember watching him play last year and thinking he'd be a great fit for this team. He's not a go-to guy on offense but he's the prototypical small forward this BBS has been craving ever since Scottie Pippen left town. Posey lacks skill offensively but he's got size and is long for a small forward. He is a workhorse defensively and is very athletic. The Rockets greatly improved themselves today and Carrol and Rudy just never cease to amaze me. I can't believe they were able to pull this off. Posey will give us a suffocating defense (coupled with the shotblocking of Griffin and Yao) and an athletic rebounder.

Just wait and see. With the emergence of Yao, and this great move, the Rockets are going places this year.

Posey lives in Houston. Plays ball in the summer with the Rockets.

    This is a good thing.

I don't understand why there's so much hype about Posey coming here. I think we got SCREWED!!!   . This trade absolutely reeks of desperation by the Roc's.

They should have traded MoT a LONG TIME AGO!! In fact, they screwed themselves by offering him a dumbass contract in the first place.

K.T. made MoT look like the lazy, overpaid, piece of crap that he is (and in the process made the Rockets look totally stupid!!). E.G. better be the answer at the 4 or we're going to be regretting this trade for a LONG LONG TIME to come!!

I have never understood the animosity toward K.T. on this board. Yes there are some, like me, who realize his worth. Philly got an absolute STEAL!! K.T. is a bonfide offensive force, he hustles his ass off, and he will always be a better player than Posey.

I think we should be giving serious minutes to Nachbar!!  I mean, I'm watching Rice, Cat, TMo and Eddie, shoot about 15% for the game. Why can't Nachbar have a shot at doing that and playing some D as well.

I have this to say to Carrol and Rudy: Buy a frickin vowel!!!

I think KT's moodiness might have played another factor. Dude always seemed to be pissed off. The Rockets have never been a team to keep guys around with bad attitudes. Just ask Maxwell and Two Sandwiches.

Glad to see some people who have actually seen Posey play posting instead of a bunch of people looking at his stats and coming to their own judgements without seeing the circumstances.

Excuse me, but do you mind providing one shred of evidence that MoT is lazy? This is the same player, who according to most of the Rockets, is consistently working on his game, and actually tore up his knee because he was working on his game in the summer instead of sitting on his ass like everyone else.

I think Mo will be alright. He just needs to get his rhythm and timing back, and it's hard to do that when you're not getting any minutes. If you guys can remember back to the game against Phoenix, Mo looked very, very good, so I know he has the capability in him. It's just a struggle for him to get everything back. However, with KT gone, I think we can give him 15 minutes a night without getting killed, and sooner or later he'll be ready.

I can't see why anyone wouldn't be excited about Posey. The field goal percentage, and turnovers, are a direct result of the team he plays on. Because the Nuggets suck so bad, they've had Posey as a go-to guy on offense. That isn't his game. Posey's game is to play good defense, move without the ball, and stick the open jumper. He's not a good creator, and his numbers suffer when you try and make him something that he isn't. Here, I think he's free to play his game. Defend the top swingmen, and hit the open jumpers. That's all we need.

I think this assessment is particularly true...A team concept IS important especially when the coach is preaching team defense as a key to success! Good for the Rox!

I think that this trade shows Rockets' faith in Eddie Griffin. Now it's up to Eddie to live up to our expectations.

Kenny has done some good things for the Rockets, and I wish him the best with the Sixers. It was obvious that we almost have to trade him sometime, so this trade isn't a surprise to me.

Posey is a good player and will really add depth to our backcourt. He can play either 3 or 2 and can really put up some numbers when needed. Plus, he is a very good perimeter defender. I think that with this trade we are ready to make some noise in the west THIS YEAR.

I think the Rocks would have rather traded MoT, but no one will take him the way he is playing now.

    Good luck KT....

    Bring on the pose !!

Do you guys think if Posey plays well he might sometime soon start ahead of Mobley.

I like Mobley but I think he is best in a 6th man role.

When I said everyone, I thought most people would understand that that is obviously a slight exaggeration for effect. My apologies if you didn't understand that.

A great trade in getting Posey. This trade shows that the Rockets are already building the team around Yao. Posey, an excellent permeter defender and can get back on defense if the opponent runs a fast break or covers Yao's man on their fast break.

This was an addition by subtraction. KT was gone when his contract was up anyway and he clearly was taking minutes from our future, EG, and MoT. Why give minutes to KT in the short term? Rudy wants team chemistry.

Posey may never even play and this is a good trade, IMO. Posey's contract is up after the season too so this trade isn't banking on him as our future.

Unless Posey catches fire, I don't expect him to play much. He'll walk after the season is over and that'll free up TMo and Boki to get more minutes. Brilliant. We don't need draft picks...we need to build chemistry with our existing talent.
