Opposing PFs were destroying us even with Kenny. Look at what Memphis and Phoenix, and the Clippers did to the Rockets. Webber had a big game. I think Kenny's defense on PFs, while good, is overrated a bit.

Don't confuse blocked shots with being a good defender. Eddie has gotten abused on a regular basis this year. I hope that this new confidence Rudy has placed in him pays off.

KT was far and away our best low post defender this year.

I think it's a good trade. Hopefully, Yao and Francis drawing more attention WILL allow Posey's shooting % to go up. Posey is good for the mindset of this team as well... he's in the same mold as Hawkins who energizes the team with his defense.

My only question is, a couple of months or a year down the line, who's gonna be gettin the PT? Nachbar or Posey, and is Tmo still even in the equation?

It's not exactly like KT was a great defender in the first place.

    OUCH!!!

I just saw that Posey is a career 39% shooter and a 31% 3PT shooter.

I sure hope his defense is as advertised.

On the plus side, looks like hes not bad on the turnovers and his a good FT shooter.

This sounds like an affirmative nod to EG as our new starting 4. I don't know much about this Posey guy other than he's young. With him on our roster, isn't our average player age insanely young??? 23??? Boy oh boy... maybe a dynasty IS brewing.

    :p :p :p

Why am I a little sad now? Strange feeling.

Maybe I like the Rockets as a team now. KT's leaving is just like we are losing a brother in this family.

I thought we were pretty stacked at small forward as well as PF...

How does Posey compare to TMo potentially? Who will see more playing time? I'm not completely familiar with Posey's game...I've seen him a few times and thought he was a pest against the Rockets...

Yes it is sad. KT played his heart out for us. He was a warrior on a losing team last year. We only wish him the best in Philly. They will be my 2nd fav team with him on there.

Posey's main attribute is his defense but the guy can do it on the offensive end...nothing spectacular...but in a solid contribution. Check out his stat line against the Blazers earlier this year:

FG-FGA 3PT-3PTA FT-FTA O-T AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
    J. Posey F 43 9-15 0-2 1-1 4-14 10 3 0 4 5 19

Amen windandsea. I was trying to fight the right words earlier and you came up with it so eloquently. Just affirms your status as one of the best posters around.

WTF! We also gave up a second rounder to go along with KT for Possey?!!

If anything we should have been the ones receiving the extra draft pick. KT is the better player between he and Possey IMO.

    Codell,

double ouch, what are his numbers this year, while he has been the primary focus on offense??

interesting to see what happens to Rice's and Mooch's minutes, both will probably take a slide, My guess is Rice will become the Bullard type starter, ie first quarter and spot minutes after that. one other benefit is it might get Steve and Cat a bit more of a rest.

I think this is a great trade for the Rockets! Hopefully, Mo Taylor can get back into the action. It will take him time to fully come back with his knee, but look at the Lakers game earlier this year. He had a great game and he plays great with Yao!

HeyP must be drowning out his sorrows...

Wish NugzFan was still here - he liked Posey and he acted like it would take a superstar to get McDyess. It'd have been funny to be razzing him right about now that his boys are gone, lol. Denver does regain the upper hand in the LeBron derby, though. I wouldn't mind seeing them get him, the fans there deserve some good fortune for a change.

Well, KT always seemed not too excited to play for us in his mannerisms, but he did come to play, and I will miss him for that. Let's hope that Posey will get an outside shot because if he does, wow, we are golden!

Oh, and sorry Boki. :( Unless you can beat out T-Mo, you'll now be third string in a couple of years, assuming we part ways with Rice.

Right on Franchise, that's exactly what I was thought when I heard about the trade. Now it makes sense why Kenny was starting and getting all the PT with MoT just sitting on the bench and getting DNPs. They were trying to find some takers on
    KT.

Great trade for Philly. I was sitting here watching the Twolves-Sixers game thinking how much better the Sixers would be with a solid inside presence, especially being in the East, and then a window pops up informing me of the trade.

As for Houston, an even better trade. It clears the logjam at PF, and gives us another defensive minded player. Hopefully he'll fit in well with our guys.

Kenny always seemed like an a55hole and the odd man out anyway.

I wonder what Walton will say about this during tonight's game. Hope his head doesn't explode.
