Great trade. Posey fits in perfectly. Good luck to Kenny in Philly. I hope he does well and gets the contract that he deserves.
Looks like a good move. Now we have a solid starting forward. When EG matures, we will have good people in all positions!
A hard working defensive minded player! this is exactly what we needed!! im sooooo happpppy GO ROCKETS!!!
I think it is a very good trade for Houston. We get rid of a log jam at the 4 and pick up a very athletic and good defender who can play both the 2 and the 3. His shooting is average (Career 40% fg percentage and 31% from the 3 point line). He is an All rookie 2nd team after got picked at # 18 by Denver in the 1999-2000 draft. He had shown steady improvement during his career in the NBA. I think he would fit in Houston very nicely.
Dallas, Please don't be sad. The rockets now have two good sf's of the future in posey/nachbar, and posey could be our sg with mobes as our vinnie johnson type 6th man
This cleans up our PF logjam, and gives us a SF who can hit the 3, crash the boards, and play VERY solid defense. I really like the trade, Posey should fit in well eventually.
I guess I'll hold off my final judgement until I see Posey play, but I'm going to miss Kenny, he was one of my favorite players. He was a good defender and our best power forward so far this year. I agree that Eddie is the future, but he isn't ready now. I also have to wonder if they plan on keeping Mo as a backup for Eddie in the years to come. That would mean we are paying about 8 million a year to our backup PF and C. I'm no expert on NBA contracts but that seems like a lot for backups.
Great trade!!! Sad to see Kenny go. Hopefully there arent as many mean dogs in Philly. If there wasnt a log jam at the 4, then this trade would never had happen. Hopefully EG and MoT can get into a rythm with regular minutes. Obviously, Mo was being benched because Rudy was getting KT minutes so pad his stats. Welcome back to the rotation Mo, we missed ya!! I can't wait to see Posey in a Rocket's jersey.
I hope Posey starts working on his shot. With some of the wide open looks he's gonna get, he'll need to hit more than 27% from 3 point range(37% overall FG %). He's shooting 84% from the FT line so he must have a decent stroke there somewhere.
I'm indifferent about the trade. If Posey could actually shoot the 3, I'd like it. Unless Rudy intends to drastically alter his offensive strategy, 3's who can't shoot the 3 have little value. He'll be nice on defense, though. And it's not like Thomas had a future here anyway.
Well, I will just say this. I hate to see KT go. He was a good defender and none of us can ever see he didnt give 110%. He did more with less and quickly erased the reputation he had coming out of college. Ive seen few players over the years that had the footwork that KT did. He was fundamentally sound and made up for his lack of height at the 4 with that. Depsite his contract situation, he never complained and just kepy playing his game. Despite his reputation around here as a selfish player, he was one of the best passers on this team and a great asset. I hope those of you who were not found of KT will at least acknowledge what he brought to this team. Last season he stept up and became a leader on this team during a difficult season. Hopefully, hell get his just due in Denver and get the contract that he deserves and that he couldnt get here due to the abdunace of talent that we have on our team. Ill miss ya KT! PS - Welcome to town Mr. Posey. Glad to have you on board!!!!
I guess Rice will have to move in with Nachbar now into the doghouse. Go Kenny Go and i bet they will love you in Phili
You can at least feel a little better about KT...he's going to Philly where he'll be playing for a playoff team. I would have rather seen MoTaylor go but I think this makes the team better and even deeper. Good job Carroll.
