Kenny walking is one part Shaq said not playing games doesn't change things, voting does. The teams agreed to postpone the games today. More importantly, Chris Haynes reports that the majority of players still want to play because they sacrificed a lot to be here.
Whatever moves him, and I can only imagine what was going on in his head, but this: * NBA is playing a kids game for money and entertainment. They decide it's inappropriate to dance around like normal, given the major social moment. * Media members (including former NBA players) have the chance to stay at their posts and help America talk about and understand that same moment. Not throwing shade at Kenny, but there is a bright line for me between deciding not to play basketball and deciding not to do the difficult talking about players deciding not to play basketball. So, have no problem with TNT and ESPN personalities staying at their desks. Arguably, we need them at some level to help us negotiate the moment.
I bothers me that I could hear TNT turn up the mics after Kenny took his mic off. I believe Kenny was sincere in deciding to walk out. I understand why he did it and I respect his decision, but the fact that it was clearly pre orchestrated and “part of the show“ rubs me the wrong way. That part feels insincere to me. The producers were back there like “turn the mics up, this is great stuff!!”
I can understand the players not playing, but generally not a fan of the media making themselves purposely part of the news.
Now trust me I understand the reason behind boycotting and everything. Fine. What's interesting is the Lakers and Clippers voting to end everything in the bubble. You can look at that and say these players are that serious about change but man... Lakers and Clippers are the favorites to win too. To me this sheds light on how hard the NBA pushes for certain organizations or players like Lebron to win titles. These two organizations don't even want to play and ones that do that also has star players and rosters that are just as good have to fight tooth and nail just to stay relevant in the media let alone the battle on the court.
That definitely does not look like it was scripted. Respect either way. No judgment here and good for Kenny, that he was allowed to do it, felt safe to do it, and did it.
Rally behind a dumbass who resisted arrest and then fled to a vehicle with his kids in it with guns drawn on him. Yep, y’all picked a real noble cause. Oh and that noble cause sexually assaulted a 14 year old. It’s honestly karma he got Lieutenant Danned by the cops so he can’t go around assaulting minors.
Irregardless of what you feel he did or didn't do It gives no one the right to be judge, jury, and executioner. If the man did wrong let him have his day in court.
He had a knife on him and resisted arrest. he didn’t give the police a chance to give him a day in court. I can provide videos of police officers who gave men with knives a chance. They were almost killed.
Still doesn't excuse the actions of the police officers no matter the man's past. That's the problem, police actions against black people are way too excessive...
