I dont really see how anybody can say Steve isnt the best player on the team. There is no question. Yao will be great, but he is no where near Francis right now.

Yup, he admits it though, so that makes him less of an idiot...but still a big idiot...

Its kinda ironic when idiots like myself start calling other people idiots :D

Kenny and Barkley = Dumb and Dumber.

They will see, we will all see what is brewing down in Texas.

LOL. I don't think Barkley agrees with it. As his book name says "I may be wrong, but I doubt it.".

I had to do a double take when I heard what Kenny said last night.

On Draft night Kenny was bashing the foreign players saying they were just a "fad." Then during the Rookie Orientation in front of MANY international players Kenny said that these players are just here for "marketing reasons."

So Kenny disses the international players a number of times and THEN....ALL OF A SUDDEN.... he sings HUGE Praises on Yao Ming? Something just does not add up.

I think Kenny got kicked in the ass by Turner Sports and David Stern saying they had ENOUGH of his xenophobic attitude and thus Kenny was put in a position where he had to say something nice about Yao Ming. Now, he truely MAY believe what he is saying about Yao Ming but I find it HIGHLY suspecious that he would change his tune so quickly after being so staunch about it for the last few months.

    Anyone else get that feeling?

    Chris

    Steve Francis = All Star

Yao Ming = Never played an NBA game

Yao Ming is not the Rockets best player. You do not get anointed with this title. You must earn it.

Yao "the marketing reason" Ming...

It's true, 275 million households will be watching in China, estimated to be 1 billion eyes on him. If you sold 1 in 500 people that watch the game a Yao Ming Jersey at $125 each, you would do 125 million dollars in sales!

Hopefully, they will all get to see 15 pts. 8 rbds and 2 blks. Then maybe 2 in 500 will buy the jersey! :D

Kenny Smith jumped on Yao on draft night even though he's never seen Yao play. Once he did, he realizes how skilled Yao is...its not that hard to understand...

This is the first and probably last time i will agree with TJ on anything. Yao could potentialy be our best player in the future, but right now he most certainly is not our best player.

imo, the rockets will go nowhere UNTIL ming becomes the best player on the team...which is not that far from now.

Another ex-NBA player was giving Yao a few shots on The Best Damn Sports show last night when Barkley was on. John Salley who was making fun of Yao with Shaq a few months ago continued poke fun at him. Barkley didn't rag on Yao with Salley but he didn't defend him either. He just said that he "hopes the kid does well." Salley went on to say that "you're just saying that because you played in Houston." You can tell that Salley wants Yao Ming to fail.

I think this speaks volumes on whether your pick was a mistake. Whether Yao is the next Shaq, Wilt, or Akeem:D is up for debate but we all at least know he is not the next Shawn Bradley.

I actually started another thread (the topic of which was mentioned here) about Kenny continuing his rants at the NBA rookie orientation. Now he's a believer? At least he can admit he's wrong.

Charles seems like he's gonna hold off for now.

I hope John Salley still has a TV show in several months when Yao's b!tch-slapping the competition.

    But Steve's our best player.

He is right about one thing: Steve and Cat have to get him the ball. No U.S. 59 (Unintentional) Freeze-Out at the Compaq Center. Our guards have a habit of trying to do it all themselves.

Kenny Smith swished the 3-pointer that saved us from losing Game 1 of the 1995 finals and changed the momentum of that series permanently. In my book, that gives him PERMANENT cart blanche to say whatever the hell he wants. Doing something that big for the Rockets on the court is worth more than a thousand nice comments from the booth.

Kenny now has the benefit of talking after receiving more information. Once he got the right information his views changed.

People say many things and make many judgements before having all the information.

I'm glad that Kenny is big enough to come back and change his tune when it deserves to be changed. That's a class move.
