[Kenny Smith Bill Simmons] Giannis compared to Dream

One of these days I'm going to show up here and there will be an entire 30 page thread of only @tinman posts - eventually arguing with himself and answering that uncomfortable question of whether you can block your own posts from yourself.

I'm here for it.

 

Which is more of a reason for Horry to take the torch from Kenny. He's played with 10% of the greatest 50 players of all time: Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan and Robinson. He's seen a lot and can claim to be integral to multiple championship runs. Getting a player with that kind of cache and perspective would probably go a long way in terms of reminding people how badass Dream was.

 

No one said Horry should take Kenny's job. I know I didn't. I simply suggested that maybe it's time for Kenny to hang up the Rockets nostalgia hat for a while and let someone else take over. I know it's hard because a lot of his credibility as a former NBA player is tied with Houston but if he's worth anything as an analyst/commentator/podcast guest, he should be able to pivot away from the glory days in Houston without issue. Sure Simmons could have told him prior to the podcast "Hey I want you to talk with me about Hakeem" and maybe if he declined then Simmons would have went with another guest but, like you said, Kenny's too well known at this point to just talk about and relive the Houston days.

 

I think they would have gotten more listens/clicks from Clutchfans members if a member would have created a thread about the segment using a better title like "[Kenny Smith and Bill Simmons] Giannis' versatility reminds them of Hakeem" or something along those lines
