Garnett has been playing better than Duncan in the last few games of the playoffs. Let's see what happens. Stop jumping to conclusions. They both are on great teams, let's see who does better this season.

Let me ask a question. Why does a big man has to have a "low post game" to be a superstar? Is a Dream Shake fadeaway a higher percentage shot than a midrange face up jumper?

    Let's compare Olajuwon's career number with Garnett's

    Olajuwon
    22.5 ppg, 11.4 rpg, .513 fg%, .711 ft%, 3.2 bpg, 1.8 spg, 2.5 apg

    Garnett
    20.4 ppg, 11.2 rpg, .494 fg%, .781 ft%, 1.6 bpg, 1.4 spg, 4.4 apg

Dream is slightly better than Garnett in scoring, rebounding, and fg% --just slightly.

Dream is a much better shot-blocker, while Garnett is much better at assists.

If Dream is a super-superstar, as we all know :D, I say KG is a superstar.

This is the game where a 40 point night for Garnett would have mattered..

Horrible analogy. First off, Dream's fadeaway was a higher % shot because he showed the ability to make it when it really mattered, no matter if the whole Knicks frontline was hanging on his arm or not. Secondly, Dream didn't just shoot fadeaway jumpers. He had a complete array of offensive moves near the basket. The only shot he probably didn't have is the skyhook (even though he did have a damn good hook shot).

KG is primarily a jump shooter. Rarely do his points come in the paint. When the game is on the line, you rarely see his team just throw him the ball down low and he goes and gets some. Varijau, or however you spell his name is handling him on single coverage. And you say Dream is slightly better at scoring....BLASHPEMY. You single cover Hakeem with anyone on the Cavs roster then you might as well get your fishing poles out....

I don't think Spurs will beat Lakers, but what I'm hoping for is a Spurs v. Celtics matchup and watch Ginobili win MVP. Then we'll see who the real superstars are. Spurs have Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. Celtics have Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. But people seem think that Celtics are better because of their popular-haven't accomplished much cast. We'll see...

Just watching that video, although just highlights, just solidifies my opinin of Dream in his younger years and prime just being flat out better than Garnett and Duncan.

I think most people in the media and fans would put Duncan on the same level or even above Dream just because of the Spurs team success. Now that both Duncan and Garnett will be declining with age, there is no way that true NBA historians will say that either of these guys can match Dream's dominance as a player. I think most knowledgable NBA media when even comparing Dream and Shaq are split about 65-35 in Shaq's favor. And that ratio may get better for Dream if Shaq's decline continues.

You miss the point. I am not saying KG is as good as Dream. (Notice I said Dream was a super-superstar, and KG is a superstar. :D)

Dream's fadaway is not a higher percentage shot than the midrange jumper. Don't give me that "he made it when it matter" cliche. Horry makes shots when it matters too. He's not a superstar. I am talking about percentage.

KG is a much better passer. At the low post, it is hard to do anything else other than scoring. The only pass Dream was good at was the pass out of double-team to the 3pt shooters, and he didn't really master it until later in his career.

My point is, why does a big man have to have a great low post game to be a superstar when he can do other things to help his team win?

That's not that accurate about the passing. Maybe dream didn't pass out of the post as well as Garnett, but one of the most important passes a big man or good rebounder can make is an outlet pass. Dream could make an outlet/football pass down the full court better than anyone I've seen.
