I think you are seriously overrating Faried's defensive skills. Elite defender is really stretching it. He might be a great defender in college but you know he was a net negative defender last season (-0.6 defensive xRAPM).

Here was the voting for DPOY last season, not even a third place vote for Faried:

I don't have any data for this season but I seriously doubt he goes from a net negative to an elite defender in one year. Denver was 20th in defensive efficiency last season. They improved to 11th this season but I would give more credit to the addition of Igoudala than Faried's improvement this season.

I agree, i also think he is better than gallo.

I dont know if he really got a chance to have a better carreer than the best rebounder of the last 20 years. Rodman was also a high energy player and a really good defender. But if he can be as good as him... u have a great player there.

Wait, what since when was Faried an elite defender? WTF? He is not a good defender and Karl plays him at center in some lineups which is hopeless.

Faried is at best a poor man's rodman.

I want to add something about Faried. Karl rarely played Faried, or McGee for that matter, during the closing minutes of close games, unless they played extremely well.

Lawson, Gallo, Iguodala are almost guaranteed closing out games when games are close. Gallo and Igoudala are their lockdown defenders, depending on the size of opposition scorers.

By Karl's rotations in crucial minutes, they give you a pretty good idea how he feels who are the Denver's best 3 players. After all, he is their headcoach.

Atleast 12' high. I would imagine if he ever jumped in a room with a standard 8-10' ceiling, he would hit his head :(

All joking aside, I would say he could become a great player! As long as he stays healthy the sky is the limit for him. A lot of comparisons to K Mart or Rodman (same person right?) He has great athleticism and motor, but I dont know if he has a consistent jumpshot or not. If he gets one of those, he could become quite scary!

Sidenote/question: What is the biggest difference between Faried's game and Blake Griffin's game?

Griffin can actually score down low. Karl never calls plays for Faried down low.

I'm sure free throw shooting has nothing to do with it.
