That's not what chucker generally means though. Not saying I want Tinsley on the team or anything but am pointing out Ziggy isn't completely off base. He's not a good shooter, but he only took one shot every 5 minutes effectively last year. And he was a more efficient shooter from 3 than from 2, though still not great. He took slightly more 3's than 2's last year. On this squad that ratio would tilt further towards three's. Also on his 39 made threes last year he was assisted on 33 of them - 85%. To me that says he isn't a great shooter, but doesn't take a lot of shots for his time played, when he does now takes more 3's than 2's, and on those shoots better when assisted. All of those things would favor Houston's playing style, where pretty much everyone else would be relied on to drive it in, or create offense in the post, both of which would create assisted 3 opportunities. At the same time, HE DOES remain a good playmaking PG. His 8.6 assists per 36 minutes ranked him 9th in the whole league last year (6th if you only include players with 1,000+ minutes). Considering his lack of an effective shot, his playmaking abilities is really impressive. Also at 1.9 spg he ranked 27th amongst all players, but 15th amongst those with 1,000+ minutes.... just ahead of PBev. These all seem like the type of stats that DM would dig into and like, given our current lack of flexibility and what's available. I still don't like the move a ton as I don't see where there's room for him, with Lin, PBev (who is a similar player, younger, better shooter worse playmaker), Brooks and Canaan. But you never know with injuries, and he is a veteran with a decent amount of playoff expertise.
C'mon, we are the Rockets. We go full speed as Brooks does. We don't need a slow, sluggish pacer on this team. Doubt Kennedy on this.
