Once again, Ken Lay has managed to rob the American people.

I am sure the government has spent millions of dollars on the Ken Lay trial. Now that we are in the sentencing phase, and he mysteriously dies. Now the American people won't even know what the sentence will be. Thanks a lot for robbing the American public again, you friggin scumbag.

It would have sucked for Ken Lay to be that guy next to Christ on Calvary. You guys would not have given him a chance. There's a real spirit of forgiveness on this board. Of course, was he seeking forgiveness? MAybe that's the bigger question.

Skimming this thread, two thoughts come to mind...

    1. Hitler really did like puppies.

    2. Kay: You know how naive you sound?
    Michael: Why?
Kay: Senators and presidents don't have men killed.
Michael: Oh, who's being naive, Kay?

I think the Accountants should have taken more heat than Lay....although the buck stops at the top.

I just left a company that did the exact same thing...TGTL...aka Gizmondo....it is sickening that the people at the top steal lots of money...

A massive heart attack is bigger than a regular one.

If I recall, there was a great deal of compassion when he was having his health problems.

It even came from those of us who disagree with his politics.

That being said, I don't find any reason to grant compassion to Lay. Because of him tons of families had to start over. He deserves whatever he gets.

Oh, OK. Thank you, Doctor. :D

While I always appreciate a good Godfather quote, I do think it's silly that there are some people in this thread hinting that this is some kind of dark government conspiracy.

I do not believe it is out of the realm of possibility. Likely? No. Impossible? Hardly.

You can't ask for forgiveness when you don't think you've done anything wrong.

One thing people should realize is that as a result of his death prior to exhausting his appeals, his conviction is abated, and Lay is legally considered never to have been indicted or convicted of criminal charges.

That means that by dying he has not only escaped punishment, he has even escaped final legal judgment.
