So now he can sleep in his own bed and not in the bench.

As a kid Griffey Jr. was by far my favorite player and many of my generation at the time. I remember the main purpose of my childhood was to somehow get my hands on the Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. error rookie card. One of the sweetest swings of all time and a certain first ballot player.

Griffey was great, but the question will always be how good he could have been if he had stayed healthy. He could have been the best ever.

That being said, I have to come clean about something. One year (I think it was 2003 or 04), I was at Minute Maid for a game against the Reds, and Griffey hit a homerun. I jokingly said that he needed to pull a hamstring. We didn't know it at the game, because he made it all the way around the bases, but he did pull a hamstring circling the bases after a home run. I take full blame for that, and I'm sorry. I haven't wished an injury on anyone since. If anyone sees Griffey, let him know.
