    Sampson actually posted Dmo up a ton also when he coached a few game while McHale had to deal with personal issues.

    He left the during the middle of the 2014 season. Our defense wasn't all that great that season..it was mediocre. The 2015 season after getting our butts whopped by Portland is when defense got really good.

    I always thought he'd be a great head coach and would have liked to have seen him take over after the McHale firing. But I'm not sure I have the stomach for a leap of faith on a first time NBA head coach; maybe Sam

    I'm not sure. He was under the tutelage of one of the worst coaches to ever grace the NBA in McFail so that already puts him back

    Plus his shape tells me that him, Mauri and Keith Jones will be spending lots of time at the buffet lines instead of the gym.

    Wrong, bud. The Rockets defense under him was good and the Bucks had a top 5 defense under him too when he coached there.

    Sampson is likely getting extended to stay at UH. He was a solid assistant for McHale, but I don't see it as an NBA coach. He's obviously had his best success in the NCAA, and is likely staying there longterm.
